When we booked this event, there was not clear communication about which room we were actually reserving. We tried repeatedly to get clarification beforehand, but our emails and phone calls went unanswered. We didn't finally get any communication until the day of our event, when we had already arrived. Unfortunately, the person we dealt with that day was extremely unhelpful and rude when we asked what we felt were very simple and reasonable questions. After making the effort to communicate ahead of time and getting no response, it was incredibly frustrating to be met with that attitude on the day of our event. We were also told that the price had been increased to roughly double what we paid last year, which was another major surprise. We've supported this venue by booking events there consistently over the past few years, but after this experience, we will not be returning. For the price, we expected much better communication, professionalism, and customer service. We also had to wait outside when our event was already scheduled to start because they didn't have our room ready.

This growth and the industrial revolution can be witnessed throughout these museums. There are tour guides and pamphlets to take you back to the time period. The tour guides are well-educated in this period of history and explain details so thoroughly! The trees were in full autumn glory and Christmas decorations were going up! The tour guides are so knowledgeable. And the tour is amazing! The history, rooms, and antiques in this house are very interesting. So much to see; you'll want to come back again!

Parking was easy to find close to the lodge. The lady who ran the ticket stand gave us a great history of the lodge and told us about several rooms we might have overlooked otherwise. The rooms all had interesting items in them, all well documented. We especially enjoyed the room with the print press equipment, the room with mannequins wearing vintage dresses (from the waistlines, the ladies wearing them had to be using industrial strength corsets), and the bowling alley in the basement. We walked over to the carriage house and stables, then took a short walk through the grounds. We're glad we took the time to visit.
