My boyfriend and I drove down to Car Time to look at a truck we found on the internet. Jason and…read moreJustin were so incredibly helpful and kind. Boyfriend ended up purchasing the truck and it couldn't have gone smoother! They took the time to tell us the history of the vehicle and were very open about repairs that had been done. They also filled the tank for us before we left! I can't recommend them enough!

In July, I purchased a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 from Car Time of Owatonna. The salesman I dealt with was…read moreJustin. He said he had no access to the service history of the vehicle, but he did show me a ticket for a repair they supposedly made. Within two weeks of buying the truck, these are the problems that arose: -Inexplicably shifted into "Recreational Tow Mode." -Discovered the parking brake didn't work. -"Service 4 Wheel Drive" light began turning on. -Discovered all 4 front ball joints were in terrible condition. -Found out the CD player doesn't work. -Discovered the CV axle and intermediate axle were damaged. -Found out there are 2 fault codes in the computer, C1404 and C1002. C1404 is for the transfer case position sensor, which might explain the truck slipping into "Recreational Tow Mode." C1002 is for the brake switch sensor. -I was quoted over $2,000 for repairs at a local garage. I should also mention that upon calling Justin about the first issue, the truck slipping into "Recreation Tow Mode", he was less than useful. First, when I told him I was able to get it back into 2 wheel drive, he said something to the effect of "cool, so it's all good now." Not the response one looks for from someone who claims to be an honest dealer that makes sure their customers are taken care of. A truck should never inexplicably shift gears, and hearing that one he sold me did, should have been cause for concern on Justin's part. In this same phone call Justin also claimed to have no knowledge of Minnesota's 30-day used car warranty law, mentioned here https://www.ag.state.mn.us/Consumer/Handbooks/MNCarLaws/CH2.asp. This law doesn't apply in my case, but I mentioned it just to hear what Justin would say. I was displeased that he claimed to have never heard of it, despite the fact he has been a used car dealer for quite some time now. Bottom line, I bought the truck "As Is," and I know this. However, I am still enough of a sap to think those who claim such high levels of integrity would seek to ensure I know about potentially dangerous problems with the truck they are selling me. After all, if a ball joint goes out while I am cruising down the highway, it is the lives of my wife, four children, and myself at stake. Is Car Time of Owatonna any worse than other used car dealers? I don't know. Just keep in mind that they are used car dealers and the stereotype exists for a reason. Don't expect integrity and do not take them at their word. I won't be using Car Time of Owatonna again.

If you had asked me last year what I thought about Owatonna Ford I would have had a somewhat…read morenegative opinion on it. My fiance and I had gone in there to test drive a few cars that we had seen on the website and were greeted by a salesman that either didn't like us because we were young, or thought we were just there to joyride because we were young. Needless to say, the experience left a very sour taste in my mouth and I was rather hesitant to return here. Fast forward to last month, my fiance was on the way to Albert Lea from Owatonna on 35 when every light on the dashboard turned on and the Taurus lost power. It chugged it's way to the side of the road where it was towed to a dealer in Waseca. It sat there for a day where they mulled over whether or not the warranty would cover the speed sensor in the transmission and because they weren't sure we opted to trade the vehicle in instead of chancing a several thousand dollar repair. DEML in Waseca only wanted to offer $7,000, Owatonna Ford offered much more. My fiance picked out a Silver 2012 Fusion SEL with almost every available option. It's safe, gets great mileage, looks fantastic, and is an all around stunning vehicle. The salesman we dealt with this time was amazing! Chris was great from start to finish. He was funny, friendly, knowledgeable, and didn't think twice about two 20 somethings in shopping for an almost new vehicle. After this experience I will most assuredly be buying my next car here. I have a Taurus as well and when it is time to trade the ol' girl in I will more than likely be getting myself a new Fusion or Focus. Owtaonna Ford really scored a win, and I would encourage anyone in the market for a new vehicle check this place out!

They completely destroyed my car in the process and after they "completed" repairs on my car, it broke down on the way home from the dealership, and my insurance company had to declare it as totaled. I have NOT bought a Car since 2006 and was never the type to Keeping Up with the Jones. Anyways I notice when going to work early morning my Chevy Trailblazer (Who I named Old Faithful) was reving really hard. As I continued to drive it out to where I had to go the Check Engine light went on. I had this problem before which is an Engine Misfire. On one of the Sparkplugs and Cylinders. I had contact my relative and she sent me to Midas In Eden Prairie, MN. Boy DID I MAKE A BIG MISTAKE. Midas told me I had to replace a whole cylinder head!! IT was gonna cost me $6k!! That is like a good used car! On top of that they we're inspecting other parts of the car that was not necessary! Unfortunately, I had to pay $122 for the diagnostic but I by change had contacted on Craig's List another Mechanic who referred me to Erik. I had told Erick and he himself was shocked at my story! He new Midas was BS-ing and I went to him. My engine was still fine! I just needed new spark plugs which he believed Midas technicians damage by pulling it out the improper way and new great quality coils which I should have don vs buying from Ebay. All in All I only spent $400 and my engine was running great. Please come over here! He won't rip you off with Lies about the car! 5 stars in my book especially coming from Chicago, IL.
