Showed up with my service dog, everyone was great and friendly. Explained my issue of my hair being butchered the last couple times, showed a couple pictures and boom, they got to work. And like a great barber they asked after they cut if the length was good or I wanted more instead of going short from the start. They listen, they're friendly, they have a good downtown location. Seems to be the mindset of some people that barbers in the vicinity of an installation can only do high and tight/military haircuts. Yet, I decided to stop by since I saw some of the business's pictures and it definitely seems that they have a diverse clientele. Darnell, I think, was the one who lined my hair and my beard up. He took his time and was very meticulous with a razor. Not to mention you can schedule appointments, so you if you don't want to wait hours for a cut, like you normally would - just schedule an appointment online. I was definitely pleased when I got out of the chair as the cut and even the price was similar to what I had got done/paid back home. Unless something crazy happens with a future cut, I will probably be going here, until I no longer work in the area.

I got my typical high fade with scissors on the top. She finished the cut so quick in ten minutes. It could have been faded a bit better and one side was uneven she had to fix. It looked okay in the mirror. When I got home I went to style it and the hair on the top was all one length and not layered. I had to fix it myself, so it wasn't so goofy looking. The cut was only $10 and probably got a $10 cut. I would go back if I was in a hurry.

It's a standard military barber shop that has about eight chairs but most of the time you find anywhere between 2-6 barbers in there... depending on the historical demand. Once you get in the chair though, everything seems to go pretty quickly. The service is great and the price you pay is relatively cheaper than you'll find out in Leavenworth/Lansing proper. They do have a small TV on the wall but it's usually local cable, so be ready to tune into some Maury and Steve Wilkos during the day. The weekend is crazy but Saturday seems to be better than Sunday. Also note that The shop closes 2-hours earlier on Sunday. There are other alternatives like the prison Barber, however, this PX Barber usually gets the job done. I recommend it either way.

No more sitting in a barbershop wasting your entire afternoon away, because there are 3-4 people ahead of you. I honestly just left there and set up my next appointment for a few weeks out and all the dates and time was available. If you wait until the week of to book an appointment, you're at the mercy of the remaining dates that people haven't chosen - so try to not procrastinate when booking your appointment.
