Prices seems standard for the region, a lot of selection and they were really pushing to get their Christmas 2018 stock moving on. They also seemed to card everyone, which is fantastic! All liquor stores should do that - a little ego boost if you think it's just you, and you don't have to worry about them getting caught in anything untoward.

There is a separate room for cigars, coolers for mixers, and smaller shopping carts. The guys working kept offering help, but I shop by price point so not much to look for. Ice is available in a cooler outside.

I've never seen this much wine, liquor or beer under one roof! They were hosting a wine tasting when we walked in, a bunch of Cabernet's in brown bags, you got to rate them and review them. A blind tasting, a fun concept. More impressive was the fact the store's staff was conducting the tasting, these guys know wine. After tasting through all the wines and buying a few good ones that I wasn't planning on, I found the scotch selection, superb. I grabbed a new Laphroaig that I haven't been able to find anywhere, including New York. One of the managers here was very well versed on styles and producers, it's good to know they stock it and can talk it, not always the case. Next up was gin, they had Litchfield's distillery in plentiful stock but a slew of others that had me thinking about my next bottle already! So now it's time for some beer for my son, there's literally a supermarket aisle worth of beer to choose from. I had to stop my son from spending his paycheck on IPAs. The Bottom Line, I left with 6 bottles of Cabernet, scotch, gin and cart full of beer. The atmosphere is fun and upbeat, just like the people that work there. They really got it right and they've certainly earned my business. This is my new place for all things wine, beer & scotch!

That being said, I wasn't happy about the fact that I had to start going to a liquor store (but, it's not too bad since they're called "package stores" out here:) I was envisioning dirty, flourescent lit stores with condoms, rolling papers and mini-blow torch lighters on the counter. Nikki G's is NOTHING like that. It's a family owned/run business, clean, safe location, super friendly with competitive pricing. It basically seems like an old neighborhood market, except they sell alcohol. They also always have my fave Coppola wine (which is probably only my favorite because we used to go Coppola's winery for dinner and it has a map of where we used to live on the back label and I MISS CALIFORNIA!!!!!!!) So, bottom line: Nikki G's is not one of these super fancy, fake ivy strung everywhere kind of places...it's a package store. A nice package store owned by a very nice family.
