This was from 2013; I don't know why the review isn't here. I had such a great experience (and used…read morethem twice more after this) that I wanted to sing their praises!

Let's face it: Moving into a new home is expensive, and it can be tempting to try to save money by hiring some random guys to move your belongings. Don't do it.
I'm a grad student with a lot of books, a lot of debt, and not a lot of money. I had scheduled a mover for March 1st, but was told on Sunday, February 24th that I had to move out by the 28th or pay a full month's rent. My original mover was booked, so I emailed Dennis and explained my situation. Despite it being the busiest time of the month and very last minute, he arranged a crew and truck for Wednesday, the 27th. This was all done on a Sunday!
On Monday, Dennis came out and went through the apartment. Despite the chaos and my worries, he explained everything that would go into the moving and reassured me that he would take care of any problems that came up. He gave me an estimate; the actual amount would be based on how much additional packing I got done.
On Wednesday the 27th, a crew of 7 men showed up right on time. Adam, the head of the crew, explained that having this many movers would make things go quickly. He was right- they moved my 2 bedroom upper apartment, which had about 100 boxes of books, in about 2 hours. Every single person was a professional- they were considerate, polite, and knew exactly what they were doing. Among other difficult items, they disassembled a complicated bed frame, took apart the fridge to get it out the door, and moved heavy glass-fronted bookcases without a scratch. They encouraged me to just sit and watch; every once in a while someone asked if I needed anything or had any questions. When they were finished, they cleaned everything up.
This alone was worth the money. It was the easiest move I had ever been through. Then the trouble started and I became really grateful for their presence.
When we arrived at the new apartment, I was told that we'd have to use the back stairs (which were in horrible shape) and could only put items in the small kitchen or in the attic (which was accessible by a tiny staircase in worse shape than the back stairs). The property manager had decided to paint the floor and it wasn't dry. This was despite the fact I had talked to the property manager on the drive over and was assured that everything was all set.
There was no way that the kitchen would hold an apartment's worth of items, and the attic stairs were so narrow that only small boxes would fit up there. This was the point that I lost it. I had no idea what to do. Adam remained calm and assured me that he would find a solution- and he did. He arranged for my items to stay in the truck, and for the truck to be parked somewhere safe until it was unloaded. Adam then asked the guys who had moved me out if they would be willing to work an extra shift over the weekend to finish the job. All seven were willing to do so, but two were already scheduled to work. Then the guys helped me unpack my car so I could go back and get the rest of my belongings. They were kind, understanding, and extremely helpful throughout what was a panic-filled situation for me.
Although Dennis thought the earliest he could move me in was Sunday, he managed to fit me in on Saturday. Five of the original seven movers were there with an additional two including Dennis. They moved me into the new upper apartment in about 2 hours, put everything where I asked, rearranged furniture, put my complicated bed back together, and even hooked up my washer. Then they went out of their way again and moved about 10 kitchen chairs into the attic. All the while, they remained upbeat, professional, and understanding. And then after all that, they cleaned up the snow and small amount of dirt they had tracked in (it was raining and snowing both days).
Although I expected the bill to be quite a bit higher than the estimate, Dennis gave me a big break on the price- charging me far less than he should have. I am incredibly thankful for this.
I cannot thank these guys enough. Aside from the technicalities of moving- nothing was broken, damaged, or lost- the movers were professional, considerate, helpful, and understanding. They went out of their way to help me when things went crazy and then gave me a discount on the price. I have already started recommending them to everyone and will definitely use them again.
P.S. Please provide these hard working guys with drinks and light snacks. They deserve it. And don't forget to tip!
