I thoroughly enjoyed shopping at Ms. Fabulous (and they have an online presence) for a different take on some of these staples (horizontal striped sweater) as well as a few things that are totally different. The prices are super competitive; I didn't feel like anything really soared over $70-100 as a single piece. The clothes feel better made than anything at Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe. And, the shopowner is LOVELY to talk to and was able to recommend other shops in Carmel's downtown that might pique my interest. She said that if people express favorite brands or styles, she tries to reach back out when she gets new items in stock. Amazing. I bought a few items from here, and I will probably try to go back any time I'm in Carmel.

When I asked for a small in one of the cashmere sweaters she had the NERVE to ask me if "I knew this sweater was $180.00?" I said yes and??? I found several beautiful items which I set on the counter to purchase.... this rude women then proceeds to belittle me again and remind me that the return policy isn't very forgiving and was I sure I wanted to purchase the items? Are you kidding me? I was only spending $900 and that was just my first stop of the day. Too bad for you moving forward! I would come back the next time I am in Carmel but I choose to stay away from uppity nasty boutique's that aren't really "ALL THAT". I am quite sure that I deserved a little more respect and will advise all of my fellow front line working nurse managers to stay far away from this store as apparently they think treating customers with disrespect is acceptable. She then tells my younger sister to not touch anything, which makes no sense since this is the whole point of shopping, smh. This lady stood so close behind us and didn't give us room to comfortably shop. She then turns off the light and says "we're closing in 5 minutes" and walks away to another shop across from her store. This made us feel so unwelcome and we absolutely did not deserve to be treated this way. Its a shame that the customer service is severely lacking being that this is considered a small business.

One thing about going to a new city is how you imagine an area in your mind's eye, sometimes…read moredoesn't match the reality. Knowing that this outdoor shopping center was 3 stories and had over 30 stores, I expected the area around it to be like a city center, with heavy foot and car traffic, lots of noise, and business advertisement. Instead, I wasn't sure if we were in the right place, because the neighborhood looked residential. The city planners/architects did a really nice job to implement this intention. The shopping center first opened in 1960, as an open-air courtyard style with a luxury department store, unheard of at the time for a town that small. Throughout the years, it hosted a major department store chain (Saks Fifth Avenue) as well. Now, in keeping with Carmel's intention to not have any national brand retail in it's city limits, the majority of stores/restaurants at this mall are local (though there are exceptions like Tiffany & Co, Anthropologie, and Brunello Cuccinelli). We got lucky and found free street a block from the center. Even on a Monday late morning, it was quite busy with tourists and locals alike hanging out in the main courtyard. A really nice feature was the large outdoor gas firepit that people were using to keep warm. We had come for a particular restaurant, but were informed that they were closed for the day for a private event (no signs or mention on their website)...I guess that's how this particular business rolls.

Adorable hip woman's boutique filled to the brim with all kinds of eye-catching accesories,…read moreclutches, jewelry and I love their taste... especially their selection of dresses. Everytime I'm in Carmel (which is almost everyday) I love what I see in the window so I finally trotted in there today and was welcomed by a sweet young stylish lady. The ambiance is warm and welcoming and they are not pretentious like surrounding boutiques. They carry some everyday wear and a lot of beautiful evening and special occassion pieces. This place is on the more inexpensive side in regards to boutique shops in Carmel. Next time I need a cocktail dress or just something nice, I will definitely hit up Pamplemousse first.
