I moved into this area 4 years ago and decided to stop driving to other neighborhoods for my needs. I took a chance and I am so happy that I did. Johnny gave me the best haircut I have had in years!!! I have long, thick, curly hair and I have struggled with receiving hairstyles that work for my type of hair. My struggle is over and I am excited to try new styles knowing that Johnny will deliver. Hands down the best stylist, and extremely affordable for the experienced hands that have me walking on cloud nine. Thank you, Johnny!!!! read more

Hidden GEM in Avondale! Cash only. Been going for 4 years (once a month for eyebrows ($5) and curly hair trim ($20) every other month. Low key place that is warm and inviting. Treats everyone like they are life long friends. (It's like going to a friends house to get your hair done) Great place for families. read more

As I mentioned before it's tough to find some one who cuts good hair. Especially someone who is confident and reassuring. I'm never disapointed when I Johnny cuts my hair. He's such a positive person that you can't help but come back. read more

if you are tired of getting ripped of by fancy salons and their stylish looking hipster employee;s this is the perfect place to get your hair done. Johnny is a real coiffeur a true artist! this is the french word for hair stylist. I am finally pleased to found this guy. prices are very affordable and the quality is amazing. Another thing I needed to add is that, in Chicagoland most of the hairdressers do now know some global hair terms. Where I come from If I guy's neck is cut straight with two corners, that is ghetto. A nice neck cut is called doing the neck natural! I tried to explain this to 3 different places they just didnt get, thanks god I found Johnny so finally I can get a good complete hair cut! read more

I have been here twice, and LOVED it each time! I go early-ish in the morning, and haven't had to wait. It's so great to be able to go when I'm free, instead of having to plan out weeks in advance. They are super cheap, but the quality is amazing. The only haircuts I've loved as much have cost me at least 4 times as much. You can't beat that with a stick! read more

I've been coming here for 3+ years... AMAZING SERVICE. Rosa always does an amazing job as swell as her husband Johnny always having a positive attitude w the clients! Highly Recommend read more

First time at this salon. Called in and they were able to make an appointment for my boyfriend for that day. Johnny did an amazing job, and was so nice and charismatic. Not only was it one of the best haircuts my boyfriend had gotten, but it was one of the most affordable! We'll be back! read more

Johnny is amazing, super talented and wonderful. It's $10 for a haircut. Only downside is you will probably have to wait awhile.

This was my 2nd time ever going to Johnny's and Rosa's and I was not disappointed! They are both amazing people!. They make you feel comfortable no matter the circumstances. I went in just wanting my hair shorter and Johnny explained to me what style he thought I should get and the health benefits for my hair! I will NEVER go anywhere else!! I recommend this salon to everyone!!! Great place! Great people! read more

I have been coming here for 6 yrs! Johnny is amazing!! Due to my work schedule I sometimes come to his salon 15 min before closing time. Yikes ! But he has never turned me away and always welcomes me with a smile! He is honest, professional and very talented!! Prices are great compared to competitors! Thank you so much Johnny! I have been going to Johnny for about 2 years and I found him by his product, I saw a lady with her hair perfectly style cut and asked her who her hairdresser was. I was expecting a Mario Tricoci high end place but I was very surprised to find this wonderful stylist. I never fret about what he will do as he cuts according to face frame as a stylist should. Such a great demeanor in his character as well and is very down to earth, not an ounce of pretentiousness and a very affordable price for the whole shabang of color, hairstyle and dry. You know a great person by their work and he always explains why he needs to cut off or leave as is and works to make the most of anything you might have wrecked somewhere else. HIGHLY recommend and trust him with my bouffant lol... Oh and rides a motorcycle. Major points on that lol! read more

johnny is fantastic. I went at 930 am this morning and there was no wait. he did a perfect job on my fade and i highly recommend him. and the cost is crazy at just 10 bucks. seems like the quality of a 40 dollar haircut. A+ read more

Johnny is a very talented hair stylist, but his price definitely does not reflect that. At $10, you will not believe the quality of the haircut you get. I pretty much leave him alone, and he determines the length and the style that suits the shape of your head, and face. Have never been disappointed, and I have been going there for almost 10 years now. As one reviewer states, you may have to wait a while, esp if you go on a Saturday. If you have some spare time late afternoon Friday, the wait may not be as long. It is a good thing I fly to Chicago quite often. read more

I love Johnny and Tina's. Johnny, Tony, and Rosa work magic on hair! Each one has their own way of doing things and a unique view on styling techniques but each of them is wonderful. I've been going here for yeas and have never had a bad hair cut or color! They are well worth what they charge and are always ready for conversation when you come in. Johnny is great with knowing exactly what will look good on you and Tony knows exactly how you want your hair with the most minimal direction. Rosa is a terrific stylist and gives the best wash and blowdries! I feel like a million bucks stepping out of this salon! It's great, friendly, and professional! They are beautiful! read more

Johnny is a great guy. He cut my hair when I first went there about 2 years ago and he did an excellent job and only charged me 15 for a cut and blowdry/style. So I figured I'd go back. I got a spanish lady and was never introduced properly so I don't know her name..... I got a shampoo, cut, and blowdry/ style ( if that's what you call it) Well she didn't do such a great job and the way she blow dried my hair was super sloppy. Anyways I was charged 40 dollars and was astounded. The service was not that great she rushed just to get me out and I felt very over charged and I could've blow dried and styled my hair ALOT better! Sorry but i would never go back to this place or recommend to any of my friends! 40 Dollars??? You'd think it was Mario Triccoci service with a scalp massage! NOT! I would recommend going to Ego by Austin and Addison. They have exceptional customer service and they don't just get you in and out. They take their time to make sure you're satisfied and they don't over charge you! I got full hair of highlights for 95 dollars and the lady did a great job and made sure I was happy! :) read more

It was my first time and Rosa was very accomodating and friendly. i didnt have to wait to get a haircut. it was quick but the service was efficient. read more

Waited for over an hour for a hair cut and left without one! Employees took care of their friends first before me and I had arrived before them. Unfair and unprofessional!!! read more
