At my first appointment he described himself as being a medical 'quarterback'. Not being a sports person, I'm not sure what he meant by it but I found him to be more of a middle manager. He'll take your vitals, order & review blood tests, prescribe some basic meds, but otherwise refers everything out. You don't even have to take off your clothes for any appointments - though this can be a plus if it's what you're looking for. My main issue is that he does not perform annual women's wellness exams. He will refer you to a Gyn. My prior doctor of 15 years & new doctor both regularly perform your annual women's wellness exam especially if pregnancy is not an issue unless you specifically request otherwise or have your own Gyn. For basic annual exams there's no real need for a specialist. My question is does he perform prostate exams on men & or is it just women's wellness he's not comfortable with? Because trust me, I don't like that exam very much either but it's a health necessity. If you're a women he may not be the right fit. He was very thorough in ordering lab test before your visit & taking vitals and reviewing them in great detail but he did not really leave time for addressing patient questions and concerns. By the time I got home I always felt that I didn't have a chance to discuss my concerns or he was dismissive of them. I always come in with a notepad to keep track of my doctor's comments & my questions. I did have one concern that I did a Telehealth appointment. He suggested I come in for a physical exam, which I did, but he never performed the physical exam. I was too embarrassed to ask. I came to Dr. Wallis when my primary care doctor of 15 years moved her practice too far. He came highly recommended. I was contemplating another doctor but chose Dr. Wallis on their recommendation. His concierge service was not feasible so I moved to another doctor who is a good fit.

The doctors and their staff are professional and caring. I haven't had issues with long wait times during my office visits. Referrals to specialists have been reasonably quick and access via their online portal is easy once you get the hang of it. I'm grateful to have such a great team of doctors and highly recommend them.

I have no complaints about him whatsoever. I'll continue seeing him. The strange part is everything surrounding him. The front desk experience has been wildly inconsistent. One person has always been genuinely kind and helpful. A couple of the others have the particular energy of people who seem inconvenienced by the existence of patients. Not rude enough to create a scene, just dismissive enough to make you wonder why healthcare reception so often feels like an underfunded DMV with worse lighting. My first intake experience wasn't much better. The staff member seemed rushed, barely engaged and somehow managed to record my height incorrectly while I wasn't even standing fully upright. The blood pressure check felt similarly mechanical and abrupt. These sound like small things until you remember that these are the measurements physicians are using to make decisions about your health. Details matter. The nurse who handled my vaccinations afterward was much warmer and more personable, which I appreciated, but the process itself felt surprisingly improvised. Supplies were forgotten, there was visible uncertainty about what was being given and there were several little "oops, forgot this" moments. Nothing bad ultimately happened, but when needles and medication are involved, you want boring competence. You want the ritual to feel practiced. That's really the frustration here. There is a very good doctor inside an experience that doesn't consistently rise to his level. Healthcare is already intimate, expensive and stressful enough. The parts around the medicine matter too. The greeting, the measurements, the handoff, the confidence that everyone knows what happens next. Dr. Sun gets my trust. I just wish the operation around him felt as considered as the care he provides.

Finding out that it has been 10+ years that either of them received an EKG is mind blowing! She's on hospice, hours left to live and Salama calls and only can say "well can you bring her in? Is she taking he dementia medicine?" Are you kidding me ! This women should not be a doctor and not just from these two examples! My other grandma has a tumor/cyst (we still don't know) bigger than a golf ball and this "Doctor" touches it runs zero test and says "it's fine don't worry about it". She's in pain ! I have now gotten her a different doctor who knows what they are doing and sending her to multiple specialist! ridiculous to say the least! Getting my last living grandmother a new doctor it near brought tears to my eyes hearing her say she got all these NORMAL STANDARD test done for the first time..... this should be in her yearly routine!
