Right off the bat, she wanted to know the full history of our baby (in utero to birth to now) and boy what a relief it was to be given the floor to tell our story rather than be boxed into questions. I love being asked open ended questions by doctors lol. I'm sure we were ignorant as hell but she did not dismiss us but acknowledged our concerns (well founded or not) and educated us. She also has a philosophy that matches our approach to allergies (and child rearing in general) which is to not label a child! And to not shield children from all that is difficult in the world but to prepare them for the inevitable bumps in the road. She is also a mom who can have real talk with parents (eg. mom guilt, picky eating, medical costs). She is also very funny. Has a dry sense of humor that I love. She administered a skin test on the baby and just before applying the skin test she tried it on herself and said "I'm an empath so I like to feel the pain that I am inflicting." Lol. We don't have all the answers yet but have got a game plan in place. So glad we met Dr. Faghih and looking forward to continue working with her.

Her office was requiring full payment for a new patient visit and allergy testing up front, before even evaluating and treating my son or running anything through our insurance. We will find a better doctor who cares about actually helping treat their patients.

MY ALLERGY JOURNEY PART 1…read more I don't know why this was taken down so I reposted again. I saw Dr. Gupta as a referral from my nose surgeon who corrected my deviated septum. He told me that my next step depending upon my degree of the highest level of breathing post surgery would be to see an allergist. I scheduled my appointment to come in and the first thing they did was to administer the allergies panel test. Dr. Gupta is an expert and educated me on the process of the test and the outcome results. My results were eye opening because I didn't know how many things I was allergic to especially food allergies. I knew that my life was about to change with the new information and that I was dedicated to the most optical health care and instructions available to me. Dr. Gupta was not just informative, but walked me through my two options. The first being prescription pills and a nose spray or doing the shots. I opted to do the pills and the spray and not do the shots. As a side note I think that Hoag is just the best. The facilities, the doctors and the staff are just A+ in my book. (Part 2 to come) MY ALLERGY JOURNEY PART 2 I opted to take the allergy pills and the nose spray instead of the allergy shots. I was't opposed to the shots. I just thought the pills would be easier. The pills and the nose spray (Dymista) worked fine. The wording "fine" is relative because I didn't have any expectations and didn't know what to expect in the range of relief. Even if I had a scale from 1-10, at this point in my journey I couldn't rate it. However once I began to adjust my eating habits, things completely changed. My biggest struggle was the food!!!!!! OH MY GOSH talk about a serious battle. Do you know what's its like to not eat cheesecake and other deserts because of the ingredients? Thanks you Sprouts for specific baked pies and other things that I could eat!!!! In any case I did good. I adjusted everything according to this list Dr. Gupta gave me from my allergy test results and for 8 months I eliminated everything on the list. This was painful, so painful. No more Panda Express!!!!! (Soy was on my list). I miss my Panda Express. Moving forward I was now reading the contents of all of my favorite foods that I had grown accustomed to eating. Healthy ice cream from Mothers, what is that? Not to mention expensive. No more specific frozen foods because of certain ingredients. I was committed and I kept at it because my symptoms began to clear up and by month 6 I was doing excellent, by month 8 I felt amazing. The catch was I had to eliminate all of the foods and food additives from the list. Now my allergy medications were working in conjunction with my adjusted food intake. I recommend everyone to go see an Allergist and get this test done. I am biased because Dr. Gupta has educated, treated and walked me through this journey that she is an expert in. FIND OUT WHAT YOUR ALLERGIC TO!!! With your own allergist, it will be life changing. (Part 3 to come)

She is located in one of the multitude of Hoag Medical buildings within a couplex in Newport. The nurses here are very nice, caring and congenial. Allergy tests were performed (the method where they put an array of tests on your back) which helped narrow down the allergies. Dr. Gupta then reviewed the allergies, explained in detail how and why allergies occur and what line of testing and treatment she would like to follow plus took time to answer all my questions. She then had me do a blood test and make a return visit to review everything. She really pinpointed what was causing my allergic reactions. Dr. Gupta instills confidence in her knowledge and abilities. She is very professional, helpful, caring and courteous; a beautiful person both inside and out.

When I started visiting Dr Zimmerman, she started off by examining my whole body, history of my problems eating habits, cause and effect of every symptoms and whole through situations analysis and came up with a customized plan of where I'm now and where I should be in the near future and in long run. I'm so thrilled that I have found her and I highly recommend her to who's looking for a real root of their problems. Azadeh Dastmalchi

She told me I needed to leave my home because of the mold. Money was an issue with me at the time, obviously, and I was in absolute tears. Her only response was to quickly try to schedule AND CHARGE $$$$$ me for another appointment to discuss how we would deal the mold issue. No compassion at all for the situation I was in. About a month later, she sent out a letter to her patients saying she was "retiring". An ethical doctor would probably stop taking new patients if they were getting ready to retire. Why would you take on new patients if you knew you would not see them through the process of getting better? Then a couple months later she sent another email to her patients saying she wasn't going to retire, but was joining another practice. Something is just not right here. I am now seeing a functional medicine doctor in Montana that is wonderful and not money driven. A PIECE OF ADVICE FOR EVERYONE, YOU DON'T NEED TO SEE A FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE DOCTOR BASED IN OC. YOU CAN SEE MOST FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE DOCTORS VIRTUALLY AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND FINDING A DOCTOR OUTSIDE OF OC. The worst part is I just received a lab bill for $2500 that I never authorized almost one year after I stopped seeing her. I called her to try and help me rectify the bill and her new receptionist told me it was my problem. JUST TO CLARIFY READING HER RESPONSE. THESE ARE THE TESTS SHE RECOMMENDED AND ORDERED. NO TEST SHOULD HAVE BEEN OVER $500. SHE SENT ME TO THESE LABS. BE VERY CAREFUL OF HER "3RD PARTY CHARGES". I can understand how frustrating it is when labs send surprise charges, which is why I always recommend that patients try to find out from Quest and all other labs up front what all their charges will be. I never want anyone to experience the stress of unexpected charges. The $2500 bill was not from our office; it was from a lab where this patient chose to get testing done. The payments are handled by the lab and not by my office, so I'm sorry that I'm not able to help with 3rd party charges.

He's very thorough. When I would ask him a question, he would close his eyes, think about it, then open them, make some notes, and give me a thoightful answer. He said I had many variables that he wanted to consider before answering. I call him Buddha because he is wise and kind. He solved another problem that I didn't really come in for, sciatica, by recommending a special form of vitamin B that is more absorbable, magnesium, and gogi berries. He wasn't trying to sell them to me. (I can get them anywhere.) Following his recommendation, in two days my sciatica was gone. Lastly, the office quoted me the price of food allergy tests beforehand ($500), which is what I came in for, and let me think about it before proceeding. I like that. With my insurance, it was only $105 for an hour's worth of his time and his recommendations. Very reasonable. I recommend him. I like his natural approach and his deep reflection before answering.

If they're on the phone with someone else, it automatically hangs up on you and makes you call again. The first time I tried calling their office, it took 6 tries before I actually got to talk to the receptionist. And let me tell you, she is a character. The receptionist is extremely sarcastic when she talks to you and she cuts you off mid sentence. I've called on two separate occasions and both times have been the same. She may think she's being nice but it's very condescending. According to my husband, Dr. Levy was nice and professional, but wasn't able to help my husband with his health concern and ended up referring him to an out of network rheumatologist (even though we got referred to Dr. Levy through providence), so I had to call back to get the receptionist to fax over the visit notes to a Providence office in order to continue my husband's care. While on the phone with the receptionist, she said "what am I doing with this" and I responded "the visit notes need to be faxed" and she said "I'm not talking to you". So while she's on the phone with me, she's having a side conversation with someone else? I hope she faxed over what I needed so I don't have to attempt to call this office again.
