Not only did they perform shoddy work, but they also violated several codes that were in place to ensure the safety of those living in the house. The pillars they built under my house don't even connect to the floors properly, which caused significant problems that we had to spend thousands of dollars to fix. The company also demonstrated a poor work ethic, leaving debris and trash on my property and not communicating effectively throughout the process. When I contacted the company in the hopes to fix their work, they never responded. I cannot express enough how disappointed I am in the work that was done by Southern Elevations & Shoring. It's frustrating to have paid good money for a service only to have to spend even more money to repair their mistakes. I would strongly advise against using this company for any work, and I will be reporting their code violations to the appropriate authorities. I called a few elevation companies but eventually went with Southern Elevations. Since the job has been completed, I cannot recommend this company enough. Below is my review that I wrote directly to the company: The lift is perfect!! I'm very thankful for your integrity/character working with me throughout the elevation process, it not only makes a good brand for your company, it sets your company apart from the rest. I know because I've had my fair share working with contractors on various projects. Also, being a female usually sets the stage for assumed naivety from male contractors. David was honest, fair and actually cared about the work he was doing. Rest assured, I will be recommending your company, highly. Respectfully, Jenn

Had contacted the firm about changing some exterior lighting and received a prompt call back from…read moreTom Bear that they could not be out until after the holidays (Christmas and New Year's). I agreed to wait. However, I never heard back from them through the entire month of January, even after leaving several calls with their answering service (not more than three calls during that period). Now it's mid-February and the service still hasn't been performed. I called twice more, once in the morning and once in the afternoon before posting this review. Still no answer. Perhaps they're so busy with other work that they can't be bothered, but I do have other electricians who will do the work when and if I call them. The initial call was made on my behalf by my neighbor, who wanted to have me change out the lighting on my property because it was deemed too bright for her. Trying to be a good neighbor, I went so far as to buy a new fixture to accomplish this and waited for Bear to no avail. I've returned her check for her portion of the work that Bear had quoted her and told her I was posting this review. Reliable and punctual they are not and I'm over them.

I love color and wallpaper, antiques and newer styles all mixed together. Blake did a wonderful job coordinating all my desires in a way that I could not do on my own. The group even has a computer program that virtually allows you to see your furniture in your space, a "see it before you buy it" experience. For a visual person, this made my experience so much easier. I would 100% recommend his group and especially him!

I live out of state and I was having a hard time finding a reputable contractor for the floors. I look a a few reviews on Chaar & Sons and decided to give them a call. From the very beginning "Moe" was very professional, informative & precise making sure the claim for my floors was processed correctly. We went from a $1200 bid to 13k thanks to "Moe" informing me of the actual damage that was done to my floors as well as beneath my floors. I know it can be hard nowadays after what so many people went through with dishonest contractors in N.O. but I can assure you if you need professional , quick and honest flooring contractor, Chaar & Sons won't disappoint.

Moe has been our contractor for years. The first thing anyone looking for a contractor needs to…read moreknow is are they dependable? So many leave you hanging, wondering if and when the job will ever be done. Moe has always been extremely dependable, whether the job was small (replacing damaged wood flooring thanks to a house guest dragging an old heavy desk chair with ancient wheels) or large (gutting my kitchen and putting in new drywall). A friend of ours bought a fixer-upper and Moe's crew transformed an old shotgun with small rooms into a freaking showplace! His new company is focused on hardwood restoration/refinishing. I wish I knew him 7 years ago when we needed this work done, but instead we went with the Floorcrafters (don't do that). Like, I know instead of it taking 3 weeks to complete one floor (and leaving a gaping hole for two nights large enough for a human to easily crawl through), it would have been done in just a few consecutive days (Floorcrafters would go days without showing up). Go with these guys. Quality, dependable contractors.

After a couple of visits to inspect my system and existing duct work they quoted us several options at fair prices to complete the the work. They also recommended and quoted an entire system replacement, including replacement of all ducts, due to its age. After comparing their estimates we decided the best option was an entire system replacement. Calcote's verified all parts were available before scheduling the replacement with us. Work began early and we had a new system installed and working the same day! Matthew and his crew worked hard to insure the system was installed properly and quickly. They accommodated our request and were very conscious of our pet's safety. All debris from the work was hauled away leaving our yard just as clean as before they started. Throughout the process Jodi kept us well informed and readily answered any questions that arose. It was a pleasure doing business with them. I highly recommend Calcote's Heating and Air Conditioning
