I just had my first cut here as a late in the day walk in. There were several barbers and perhaps…read morestudents cutting. Everyone seemed at ease and the overall vibe was friendly and calm without any apparent tension. A student cut my hair and was well supported by the managing woman who did the finer work, modeling kindness in her instruction and coaching. Another barber shaved my neck and around my ears. She was also friendly and at ease. I will go again.

The New England School Of Barbering provides top notch education to those looking to learn new…read moreskills. They have a hands on approach that prepares each student with skills that make the transition to going to work go smoothly. This is not one of those schools that keeps you locked up in the classroom forever. You don't need to do apprenticeships when you graduate to feel like you're finally ready to start working. You can hit the ground running by working in your career as a barber as soon as possible when you graduate. The education offered here made it possible for my husband to build a great clientele and start making a great living at a pretty young age after he discovered a traditional four year college education was not for him. He did so well, in fact, that he convinced me to become a barber also and I too went to NESOB. For the first time since I graduated college, I feel like I have valuable skills that get rewarded. I can live the dream of being self employed with a schedule I set myself. And I make more than I ever could muster with a four year degree in general biology. This school and the caring attention of its owners has improved my family's life and financial future and for that my husband and I will be forever deeply grateful. The owners, Mr. & Mrs. C push you to learn as much as you can while you are there, both about barbering and about work skills in general. They are tough teachers in the best way because they do their job out of caring and out of the desire that all of their students succeed and are as prepared as possible to start working. I have seen them give so much to their students, especially when those students really show the desire to learn and to succeed. If you are considering a career in barbering and have been looking for a great school, you have found it here.
