If we had to leave a message, someone always got right back to us. Email communication was always clear and concise. 8) Since this was my first mortgage, I wasn't too familiar with how the process worked and/or the terminology. The Team's communication was/is excellent. They took the time to answer any and all questions as well as, explained in a way that could be understood. 7) During the process, The Team went the extra mile to make it as easy as possible with documentation. The majority of the forms, documents, or signatures were done electronically to minimize any inconvenient trips to their office. 6) The Team members are always polite, upbeat, and truly believe in 100% customer satisfaction. 5) During the process, The Team provided a checklist of items to submit. They followed-up until all documents were submitted. I found that if I had difficulty obtaining a document(s), The Team put forth a lot of effort to help obtain the document(s) needed, instead of just leaving it in our laps. This made for a very stress-free process. 4) During the process, The Team kept in contact with us even during the waiting periods. I found this helped reduce the stress level of the whole process. The waiting and wondering is/was the hardest part! 3) It was great working with Angie! She is extremely knowledgeable, professional, always available, and goes the extra mile to help you through the process. She made the process a pleasant and calm experience. 2) My husband and I can't say enough about John Spiker. When we began the process, we weren't sure what direction we wanted to go. I believe our first phone call with John lasted an hour and a half. He really took the time to go over all of our options and was happy to do so. He made us feel like we were the only clients he had. He truly worked hard to get the loan that worked best for us. He is extremely honest, hard-working, and truly cares about his clients. I RARELY ever write reviews. In fact, I think this is just my second review ever, and my first positive review. I don't do these, but this experience is definitely worth noting for all the world to see and reference when they are looking for a mortgage. John Spiker, Angie Hine, and the rest of his team at First Mortgage Company of Idaho made my wife and my first home-buying experience very smooth and relatively stress free. Despite some challenging paperwork obstacles (one's that may have caused a deal to fall through at other, less dedicated brokerages), he and his staff worked with us and made sure we always understood what they needed, why they needed it (when I asked), and worked with me to help put together a package that was worthy of the mortgage we were seeking. They kept well within our requested time-frame, worked well with the other players that are part of the home buying process (which they should get a big pat on the back for, considering how notoriously difficult (borderlining on unprofessional) the sellers' realtors were with what they were asking him/us), and we ended up with a darn good deal on our end - with the loan type requested, a low interest rate, low upfront and closing costs, and low mortgage payment. Although their opinion may differ because they do this every day and see all different kinds of people and packages submitted, in my opinion, what they did for us felt like it was near-miraculous, and they did it with a smile on their face and a helping hand always extended out. Its hard to believe that I'd ever say this, but I actually enjoyed the process of buying our home (normally its only the looking part that is fun), in large part because of the great experience we had with John, Angie and the rest of the crew. This group has unquestionably earned my loyalty and I wouldnt go anywhere else to get another mortgage, a re-fi, or any other variation of a home loan. Side note: Its worth noting that Angie is an extremely good editor, especially considering its not her chosen profession (I work with professional, high-level, highly-compensated editors daily, and she is comparable), so if you find yourself with any issues with any narrative explanations/write-ups they need from you, she could prove to be really helpful to you.
