I loved Park House the restaurant, and had many fun times there, but I do think that this spot being an Events Center is its rightful place as a treasure in our city. Architecturally, this place is so beautiful, and also such a great set up for an event location. The bar area is naturally separate from the rest of the restaurant, so a cocktail hour is easily contained within the bar and cocktail area. When it was time to open up the assigned seating, which fanned out from a fun dance floor and DJ area in the middle of the room, we found our seats easily and could see the head table and all the action on the dance floor. Offering a panoramic view of the Myriad Gardens and the city beyond, you get both the view of the park and all it's natural beauty, plus a view of the Colcord, the Devon tower and the rest of the city beyond. I can't think of any other place in the city where you can find such a perfect mix of natural and manmade beauty nearly everywhere you like. If you're a little bit country and she's a little bit rock and roll, this is the wedding and reception venue of your dreams. Add to that features like a great set up for guest drop off and valet parking, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better location for private events in OKC.

The short: Great Service, clean rooms, great location. Stay here…read more The long: I like to call Steven "The King of Breakfast". This young man makes breakfast amazing. He keeps everything hot and fresh. He also makes the best cinnamon rolls. He stops by and checks on people as they are having their breakfast, and really takes ownership of this breakfast spot. When you wake up, or are perhaps just out of bed and need a cup of coffee Steven makes sure the first fave you see is smiling and happy. If you spill your coffee, he assures you, it's the coffees fault and not yours. Now there are two young ladies who fill in for Steven, because, he does need days off. They do ok. But you notice he isn't there. The breakfast has juice, fresh fruit, dry cereal, yogurt, pastries, bagels, at least two egg dishes, sausage and/or bacon, sometimes sausage gravy and biscuits, pancakes, ohhh and cinnamon rolls and coffee. Oh and tea and hot cocoa. The hotel also offers a laundry for guest use, so you can pack less. They also have a pool and jacuzzi, Incase your days are long and your body hurts... say you're staying to see the WCWS and have long days. The location can't be beat. Close to walmart. Which is great when you are traveling, say Incase you forgot something. Or want to stock your fridge, which each room has. Or get some snacks for your room. So, say you don't want to go to walmart, but you forgot something essential like a razor or a toothbrush. Not to worry Janice (Queen of the Front Desk) and her staff, they gotcha covered. Give them a jingle or walk down and they will hook ya up. There are two computers in the lobby for you to use, Incase you need to print anything or have to (sigh) do some work while you are here. Every time I walk in, I am welcomed like an old friend by the front desk staff, which I love. We request our favorite room. So far they have been able to accommodate that. It's my favorite, as it's close to a stair well and I am a scaredy-cat and the weather here is well ... tornado-y at times. Wine thing that strikes me, is that the management must be doing something right, in three years, we keep seeing all the same staff, morning-noon and night. So, they have to be doing something right. I am a huge fan of VRBO, I use them a lot, except here. The consistent amazing staff, the wonderfully clean and comfortable rooms, great breakfast and location keep us coming back. We have stayed here for three years running, and it's not about to change.

It almost has a library atmosphere to it. When you first walk in here you are greeted by a hush. It's almost eerie. There is an information desk to your left, at times there is no one manning this desk, but there is a screen to inform you as to what room is being used for what. Also on your left is a corridor that connects to the Sheraton hotel. Moving forward you can either go upstairs or to the main conference room. For this review, that will be the main focus as I never went upstairs. The main room is huge, so huge that they can divide it up into three areas. Seems great when you think about it and you need space, but somehow it kind of turned into a bit of a nightmare to deal with. Noise travels in here, loudly. For what I was attending I was sitting on the far left of the now divided room. Everything that was being said on the far right of the now divided room I could hear clear as day. You may be thinking, "Well, the room is divided, how is that so?" When I say divided, it's not divided by anything more that curtains. So you hear, and nearly see everything else that is going on in that room. It made it hard to focus. Want to know what made it harder to focus? The fact that even though it is warm outside, you may need a winter jacket to keep yourself from getting hypothermia. Not knowing this, I had no warmer clothes and I suffered. I made frequent trips outside to warm up. The outside area is beautiful. There is a pond with a fountain in it and a path for a stroll. A covered area with benches to take a break. The facilities were tidy and well maintained.

This is a great spot for a conference, and I was very impressed today. It's also worth noting that the Reed Center staff served a Mexican lunch today and it was delicious. Yum!

Like there's a silo (I think that's what it is?) right outside the venue and also train tracks right outside too. It definitely feels like you are in a more or less secluded area, even though it's very much still in Edmond. The ground outside the venue was mostly large gravel up closest to the entrance, and small gravel further away (like where most people ended up parking). It wasn't the most level ground, which made it a bit difficult for those of us in high heels! It also didn't help that it had rained earlier that day, so there were tons of puddles... so many that you could barely avoid stepping in dirty water, not to mention the wetness paired with the gravel paired with tall shoes just made for a slightly wobbly walk inside. Not the worst thing ever, but if I were the venue, I'd definitely consider paving more of the ground outside to counteract this! There is a small deck type thing out of the front. They have stairs and also a ramp up to this deck which leads to the front door entrance. Inside was smaller than I expected it to be, but it definitely fit everyone that came to the wedding and the reception. It has sort of a mix of the cute country vibe and the fancy warehouse vibe thing going on. I believe you could see the bricks inside, and there were also barn doors on the windows just for example. There was a small balcony in the back. From what I could tell the only way to get up to the balcony was by stairs. Then through a hallway in the back they also have bathrooms and a groomsmen room and bridesmaids room. Because the ceremony and reception were both here, we had to all go outside to wait for them to switch from rows of chairs to tables. I'm not sure if the venue itself was in charge of doing this, or some outside third party, but it didn't take too long (maybe 10-15 minutes). Luckily, we had food and a coffee bar to keep us occupied while waiting for this switch.

So I really love it when I find a new space that I really don't think anyone knows about. I attended a luncheon here last week, put on my Leadership Oklahoma and featuring several downtown experts talking about new trends in downtown. The owner of the building did a little introduction and talked to us about the room we were in, and how it is newly available to be rented. I think this is such a great idea. The company probably routinely needs a large space for trainings, seminars, and company-wide events and meals. So, the top floor of their building is a big, empty room with A/V capabilities. It has large windows overlooking Bricktown and Downtown, and a big outdoor area that's also available. The floors are polished concrete and the walls are exposed, rough hewn brick, so basically a blank canvas for events, weddings, parties and more. It's such a cool location, and such a nice space. I'm happy to have one more place on my list to suggest to people when it's time.
