Whilst, I've been out of uni for a wee while now, I've fond memories of the on-campus book shop for several reasons:
1) You can trade in your books, which is awesome because academic books can be a costly affair.
2) They also have non-study books, which is really refreshing to see when you're stuck in a bottomless pit of chapters and deadlines. - YAY for escaping academia for a brief second.
3) WOAH, stationary! And quite a bit of it. And reasonably priced too. Need some new stationary but can't face the trek into town? Fear not, John Smith can sort you out.
4) Staff were always lovely. This was the main reason I would visit the campus shop, even just for a browse. One lady in particular had the power to brighten up my day in an instant. I'm fairly sure that my post-uni life has been that little less bright without her.
John Smith & Son, I kind of miss you. read more
