Let's face it, some things about being an adult are not fun. Sure, you can eat cake for breakfast…read morebut beyond that-ugh We finally took care of getting "our affairs in order" so that our assets go to who we want without a bunch of hassle for our heirs. After seeing several sad situations we asked around for recommendations and Mortensen Law came from a highly trusted source and I am grateful we chose them. We were pretty much clueless with what everything was we needed to have in place and what we needed to do and Mr Mortensen is very nice, easy going and not an intimidating person to deal with. I had heard horrible stories from other people of how difficult a time they had, but in our case it was easy. Once everything was explained we figured out what we wanted . Had a couple rounds of changes (sorry - waking up at 3 am was inevitable when you thought of one more thing). Everyone we dealt with in this office was professional and kind and I would highly recommend this office.

Hello, only reason why I'm writing a review it's in hopes I get a call back. I've been calling…read moresince September of 2023 and have only spoken to Shannon no more than 3 times. Last time I called I was told by a gentleman she would call me back April 21 2025, it's May 26 and yet no return call, it's not the first time. It wasn't my choice to pick this firm but my sons uncle who handles his dads estate. Supposedly it takes this long to do statements for a trust account from 2017 not much $ has been issued. My son is 23 now and yes I'm calling for him because I know if his dad was alive he would do the same if his son is being taken advantage of, hed be livid this is happening..... I almost feel just like all other lawfirms take their sweet time so they can charge charge charge to a deceased persons estate .... what will it take to get a call back regarding 1/4 of $ that should have been given to him at the age of 18? Mr. Dan Mortensen how can I get answers, should I show up in person? I've been really nice asking and being patient when in return all I have been given is attitude for not knowing how things work, if I knew his dad would have passed away I would maybe have prepared myself ahead, my son has gone through enough at 9 yrs old losing his dad. Does anyone in that office have the decency to call back when they say they are????? I've gotten she's at lunch, she's gone for the day, she's in a meeting, she isn't here today, etc. Which i guess I'm not the only one being told, ive read previous reviews. Ill be calling May 27 in hopes someone can help.

This review reflects my personal opinion and recollection of my experience working with this…read moreattorney. It is intended to share my honest perspective, as is my right under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and the Consumer Review Fairness Act (CRFA). Readers should conduct their own research, form their own opinions, and proceed accordingly when choosing legal representation. My overall experience with this attorney did not meet my expectations. Unfortunately, I did not achieve the objectives I had hoped for, and my situation worsened during the course of representation. My case took a significant amount of time to get filed, and communication with the attorney was challenging. During our three in-person meetings, no clear goals or deadlines were established. As a result, my family and I faced serious consequences, including the risk of foreclosure on our home, the repossession of my truck, and significant emotional distress. An emergency bankruptcy was filed only after my truck was repossessed, which left me unable to earn income. This, in turn, affected my ability to make Chapter 13 payments, leading to the dismissal of my case despite my efforts to secure employment. I was not notified when my case was closed and only learned about it through a letter from the court and a different attorney who informed me that my mother's home was at risk of being sold by the bank. I found the lack of communication and clarity regarding my case deeply frustrating. In my opinion, the attorney abandoned my case and has not responded to my attempts to seek clarification or answers about the court correspondence I have received. While I acknowledge that my financial difficulties are ultimately my responsibility, I sought this attorney's help in good faith to navigate my circumstances. I had hoped for more proactive communication and exploration of alternative options, such as filing a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, which might have better addressed my situation. My mother also had a case with this attorney, which was similarly discontinued. However, in her case, the attorney made an effort to notify her and connect her with a different attorney. It remains unclear to us why her case was not pursued further. I want to emphasize that my experience with the attorney's paralegals was excellent. Carmen, in particular, went above and beyond to assist me and was consistently available to address my concerns. I greatly appreciate her efforts and professionalism. Based on my experience, I would not work with this attorney again. However, I encourage others to conduct their own research and make their own decisions when selecting legal representation. Edit: To retaliate is to return a harmful action with another harmful one, often in an attempt to get revenge or "even the score". Some examples include throwing a rock after being hit with one, a manager firing an employee for filing a complaint, or a country imposing tariffs after another country imposes them. Writing a fair and honest account of my experience with any business is a Constitutionally protected right. The implication that my review is retaliation in and of itself suggests that harm was somehow done to me first, so what exactly is being said here? It is categorically false and I can assure that my fair and honest review was posted simply to share my experiences with this attorney as many other people have done. It's not irregular or retaliatory for customers to review their experiences. It's part of a healthy open market system that promotes transparency and helps others make informed decisions. The personal attacks posted in response to my review are shocking and unacceptable. Revealing private information about my case is highly concerning because it violates the duty of confidentiality. This duty is protected by strict professional rules. The narrative presented in the comments is missing context and for the most part untrue.

Had to report them to the California State Bar Association. Crista Hermance has threatened me, and is incredibly ignorant of the law. Kaitlyn Farrell is the worst lawyer on the planet. Malpractice, client abandonment, violating my rights as a disabled american, withholding information, withholding my documents. The most unethical lawfirm I've ever even heard of. I said no thanks, just a will. I was put on hold and then told everything was good and given an appointment to speak with an attorney on the phone. I was also emailed an extensive form to fill out that took approximately two hours. The day before the scheduled appointment, the firm called me and said the Will was covered by MetLife but that they will not do wills without doing a "total package," which includes a trust, Advanced directive, etc. and that costs extra. So, this MetLife deal is really just a way for them to drum up business... and why wasn't I told this before I spent hours on their form? I was always very clear what I wanted. Therefore, I find them disingenuous and unethical... not what I am looking for in an estate attorney. No thanks, wish I could give zero stars.

Ten stars! First and foremost, I want to point out here that I don't trust attorneys or law offices…read moreand typically have had the worst experience. That is not the case here with the OHare family. However, When I first set out to obtain the appropriate trust attorney I was severely disappointed in the lack of customer service from several local Offices I contacted. Very typical, none of the law offices I contacted and reached out to returned a simple phone call. When I called Edward, his receptionist wired me through to his personal cell phone, answered, we briefly spoke and he called me back immediately to discuss details further literally within minutes. That small gesture and professionalism is why I hired him. Let's look at all the other offices who didn't even bother to return a phone call to potential clients as i'm sure there are several who lack enough courtesy to return those calls. That is a foreshadow of what that business will offer you as their client; nothing you hope for or desire. Edward OHare is the only trust attorney that I've seen treat clients as if he actually welcomes their business and that by far goes a long way in the life of fellow professionals and clients. I would gladly pay more for those services than I would from the typical attorney offices who don't extend very simple courtesy of a returned phone call.

So many great recommendations and it turned out to be an absolute joke. I had our interview over…read morethe phone in October and 2-3 weeks they said for documents to be done. Not that I was in a rush but don't say that and disappear for MONTHS. I've had to chase repeatedly and still nothing. First of all, I've handed over 4K to some people I've never met, so do your customers the courtesy of reassuring them you aren't some scam or let you know of delays. I get the impression the two of them are overworked and overbooked which is never a good look or suggestive of good work.
