I reached out to Eddy with Mathieu Accounting because of the great reviews, 2 days before Christmas, and he responded immediately while he was on vacation! He had me e-mail him my taxes to review them and knew instantly what the issue was with them. He gave me advice on how to resolve my issue with my taxes over the last couple of years and spent a good amount of time patiently explaining everything. I am so incredibly thankful as I have been overly stressed for some time now trying to get help from other companies to figure this out and no one wanted to be bothered. Friendly, Fast & Fabulous!!!…read more Ever since one of the top two, well-known, tax preparer companies totally messed up my income tax return many years ago, I've resisted entrusting anyone to complete this annual obligation for me. But with an ever-expanding to-do list and a great fear of missing another filing deadline, I sent up a last minute plea for help and like Batman, Craig came to my rescue! The other Yelp reviews were right. Craig was so helpful. He didn't berate me for getting caught in the filing deadline crunch, but instead he put me at ease and quickly outlined an action plan. Thanks again Craig for your professionalism, clear communications and hard work. Looking forward to using your services again next tax season, only earlier--I promise!

I hired Polaris Tax & Accounting because I needed an expert in rental property taxation. When I…read moreraised concerns about my return, I was told my reports were confusing because the 'Monies in' section included deposits into the account to cover expenses. Not sure why this is confusing. As an accountant, Joe should have taken responsibility for interpreting client‑provided data correctly. Instead he calculated the income incorrectly then blamed me. This seems to be a low‑cost, high‑volume operation where work feels rushed, quality suffers, and service is mediocre at best. It appears Joe relies heavily on tech to move quickly, which is fine with me, but when questioned, it seems he has no time to dig into the numbers to address the questions (never explained the discrepancy in the depreciation schedule). This experience was stressful, disappointing, and far below my expectations. I do not recommend this firm.

I had a very…read moredifficult tax year, with a lot of variables like work from home, plus work outside of the home, plus medicare. My first rough quote by a free tax preparer was $9,000 more than what Ivy prepared. She went through even possible way I could save on my taxes, she worked for me, not the IRS. Her office is centrally located, but you can also do your taxes remotely, which my sister has done since she moved to Orlando, then VA, then back to Orlando. I can't say enough about how wonderful Ivy was. She was calm and not critical of everything presented. My last tax CPA was curt, even accusing me of using my children's 529 when all he had to do was ask and I showed him receipts for UCF and study abroad, because I could not claim her, as she had aged out, he assumed she didn't exist. Ivy is always professional and her calming presence put me immediately at ease. She's also very efficient, she scanned all my documents in front of me and asked very smart questions, not belittling one. She was never judgemental, just a teammate in this process we do once a year which is very stressful to us laymen. If you want your taxes done professionally, with a wonderfully kind person, use Ivy!
