The laceration went through my forehead and across each layer to the bone. The ER stitched me up, and it just didn't look right. There was no way I could leave it in the condition it was in. The following Saturday morning my boyfriend made a call to Dr Matthews after being referred by a close family doctor. Dr Matthews went out of his way to come in on a Saturday. He was very kind and understanding. He treated the appointment like any other appointment- turned on music, patiently re-stitched the large laceration, was very professional and had a great conversation with my boyfriend and I. Dr Matthews came in when it was not planned to help a complete stranger out. He made me feel very welcomed and I immediately trusted him. He did phenomenal work on the stitching of my laceration. They were so detailed and aligned. Since the procedure, he has been communicative and responsive with all our questions. I am very grateful for Dr Matthews and highly recommend him. He is genuinely a great person

This experience was the worst. My daughter had all her Wisdom Teeth extracted. We believed the…read moreinformation we received for her care was adequate: the sutures would dissolve in 7-10 days, and she would need to keep the sockets clean for the next several weeks until the healing was complete. First, there was no follow-up phone call once we left the office. Second, my daughter's recovery was complicated due to the fact that the sutures were still intact after four weeks. This resulted in an infection and visit to the emergency room. A second visit to mcmurray's office was necessary to have these sutures removed. Once this was completed, she was escorted to the waiting room and dismissed. The receptionist was the only one available to answer any of my questions, and she was not able to respond to any of my concerns. Once we got to our vehicle my daughter broke down and started crying. She said they gave her something to numb her gums, but began removing the sutures before the numbing was complete. They didn't ask her how she felt, they just started the procedure. Third, a follow-up appointment was scheduled. When we arrived, we were greeted by the surgical assistant; mcmurray chose to wait in his office. He only appeared after I requested to speak with him and the office manager. I detailed our frustration with the care we received (the lack of follow-up, the emergency room outcome, and how they hastily removed the sutures before the numbing was complete). Both the office manager and surgical assistant were sympathetic. They showed empathy and compassion towards my daughter, and were apologetic for what she experienced. mcmurray was the complete opposite. He refused to accept any responsibility, arrogantly stating 'sometimes these things happen', and 'we can't predict every outcome'. He was dismissive, smug, and made continuous efforts to speak over me. No apology to our daughter, and absolutely no accountability for this debacle. Will definitely state to everyone to stay away from mcmurray. His lack of professionalism and disdain for his patients is pathetic. He is a disgrace to the profession.
