John was very responsive and helper at any time. I enjoyed work with him, he was very explicit describing the process to be experienced.

We received attentive, proactive service and helpful guidance throughout the process. They even reached out to the seller's agent (with whom they were familiar) and let them know we were great buying candidates. The team's use of technology for managing all documentation and signatures was enormously helpful as we were thousands of miles away. We never waited more than a few minutes to get responses from the team and no question went unanswered. We knew exactly what everything would cost long before we signed our purchase and there were zero surprises. His team shared in our excitement when we closed, and we'll be heading over to the office to thank them in person sometime soon! Protip: If you're moving from out of state, going with local lenders like Jason is a big plus with sellers!

In having lived in other states and this being our fifth home purchase, we have had the full spectrum of experiences related to lenders and mortgage companies. We relayed our concerns to our realtor who recommended Jason Higham at Cherry Creek Mortgage. We could not have asked for a better referral. The loan environment when we purchased was struggling with the post Covid events and the market explosion in sales. The day-to-day changes in funding, qualifying criteria, and background checks had intensified to a level of extreme frustration for us as experienced buyers. If it wasn't for Jason and his team staying on top on all communications, keeping us in the loop, and expediting delivery of loan qualification materials I can only image how stressful this could have been. Jason's knowledge of the ever-changing criteria and needs of the individual lenders was outstanding. He was always on top of what was happening and sending out emails to both my wife and me. We knew he always had our best interests at heart and was working to get us the best loan for our financial needs and personal desires. He kept on working despite the many after-hours discussions and found us the lender with the best rates and conditions for our particular purchase. He was always realistically upbeat (no canned phrases) keeping a quiet and at times an appropriately humorous approach that worked to get us past the mountains of frustrations. For example, on the morning of closing and us walking into his office, he told us he just got word from the lender about us making a refrigerator purchase the day before and that they had to investigate; thus, we couldn't close. Unbeknownst to us, his team was working behind the scenes and after less than half an hour we were good to go with closing. During that half hour he was talking (and in hindsight distracting us) and making humorous comment about the impact of the lender wanting us to wait post-closing to purchase a refrigerator in what was at a time with the Covid supply chain shortages. This delay in this recommendation is more than embarrassing to write but is a long overdue 'Thank You" to Jason and his team a Cherry Creek Mortgage and hopefully speaks that our sincere appreciation is not forgotten.

Once the mortgage broker, Skip Scott, was able to get us in the door he increased it due to an error on his part of not understanding our state of residency. Through out the process we constantly followed up with the company to understand status and next steps. It was like we were dragging them along. We were very diligent about ensuring all of our documents were submitted. At the final hour, a week before our close date, the broker verbally demanded a rate sheet from another bank we were considering before we agreed to go with CMG. We provided it and were then told by the broker that CMG wouldn't be able to provide us the rate due to the other lender's rate being higher than what the broker thought. He said he'd "see what he could do" and came back offering us the same rate if we paid several thousand dollars worth of points. What!?!?! I escalated the issue to the branch manager who made the decision to back the mortgage broker up despite my written documentation that the broker had committed to a specific rate. I then escalated to the company VP and CEO. With in 15 minutes of sending my email to them I received a call from the branch manager "apologizing for the confusion." There was no confusion. It was a clear case of the broker trying to change our rate at the last minute. The VP and CEO knew this wouldn't fly and of course honored the commitment his broker made. They could not however make the local branch close on time. The branch manager I mentioned was on vacation so apparently the entire office was too. Our documents were late and therefore we closed late, despite constant reassurance that we'd close on time. This is the 6th home mortgage we have had and the only negative experience we've ever had. It was bad from the start and just got worse.
