A place
to
start
John McCleverty recently died at the age of 89. He was called Mr Cruise Ship and was responsible for much of the present boom in cruise ships and tourism on St Thomas. He pushed and advocated for the cruise ships to land here and with the cruise ships came the much needed money to the island.
So it is only fitting that the island named the new welcoming center after Mr McCleverty. It is located only a short distance from where the ships land and is a cool and comfy place to take a rest, find information and get your bearings.
A little information booth is right next door in case nobody is around in the welcoming center and lots of maps and ads for restaurants and fun things to do can be found there.
Not a place to spend a lot of time, the welcome center and information booth are one of the first things you see when you start off the cruise ship. A nice place to start your adventure on St Thomas. read more
