They got me in, fixed my crown, signed me up as a new patient and did not charge some outlandish "emergency" fee. I was in and out in less than 45 mins. Incredible. Do not get your dentures here! From the second I put my denture in, I told the DDS that the teeth…read morewere too big and they were bucked. The DDS sent the teeth out to be corrected, they lowered the gums on the pair I was given so the teeth appear to be smaller. The overbite issue was addressed by adding more "gum" to the front of the denture so now my upper lip sticks out. So, same teeth, same poor fit, same unaddressed concerns. The DDS told me he could not help me. Then, I was given the opportunity to pay more to have them "fixed", which I declined. For 2 reasons. 1 is I already paid handsomely for a denture that does not fit correctly and no one cares to do anything about without extra money and 2 is they are giving me the same DDS who did them and fixed them incorrectly in the first place. So, please, if you need dentures, find a DDS that cares about the smile you wear. I have to wear these horrible pieces of plastic until I can afford another pair. Your smile is so important, don't let this office take it away.

My wife went and had her teeth cleaned. We've never paid anything because our insurance covered it…read moreall as they were an in network provider. We've used them for a number of years. So a month later we get a $130.00 bill. That floored us. So my wife called and we were told that they were no longer an in network provider. That they got a letter from our insurance provider dropping them from the network. I understand these things happen. But upon check in they never said anything about no longer being in network when in fact they knew they weren't. When checking in they always asked if there is any changes to our insurance. We didn't know that they were dropped as our insurance company never notified us of the change. So we appealed the bill to Shallotte Family Dentistry and they refused to work with us on their bill citing that they file our insurance as a courtesy. Beware, that you could end up with a huge bill if you had more work than a cleaning done. I would no longer recommend them.

I was impressed by the compassion, honesty, and integrity displayed during this challenge.

This review does not comment on the quality of care given by the dentists in this clinic. The…read morereason for the 2 star review is that I have been dealing with a severe toothache for approximately one week. I called last Friday to tell them that the character of the pain had changed from pain with biting to a chronic toothache. I was told to take the painkiller tramadol. I called the office today at about 8:43 AM to inform them that my appointment with the Wilmington endodontist had been changed from Thursday to Friday. The staff told me that the appointment was for evaluation only, and not for treatment. The staff at this office told me that the referral was for treatment as well. I was told that the dentist would call me back today to ascertain where the treatment was to be given. If treatment was not at the endodontist, then I wanted an appointment for next week for treatment at this office. I did not want the toothache to continue any longer. I was not given an appointment, and the dentist never called me back. There was no concern for my level of pain, nor a response as to which office was to provide treatment. The referring dentist should have contacted the endodontist to work out where treatment was to take place and when.
