After taking radiographs of my teeth, the dentist came in and reviewed them with me- telling me that I needed a deep cleaning that I would need local anesthetic for, and he would send the claim for it off to my insurance for an estimate. He looked in my mouth for about 2 seconds and that was it. I was out the door. Total time in office was about 10 minutes. I waited about 3 weeks, and I got an estimate from the office for the deep cleaning. My insurance wasn't going to cover any of it, and it would be $500 out of pocket uninsured. Something didn't sit right about this to me so I called my insurance to ask why they wouldn't cover anything on this. They told me that the xrays that were sent in were blurry and they could not determine from them that I needed the procedure, so it was denied. So, having worked with insurance companies in my own professional career- I am deeply disappointed with this office. If the insurance company did not tell them that they declined the claim because of blurry radiographs then they should have known to call and look into it themselves because why else would they deny a claim if I indeed needed the procedure. Instead they took the easy way out and went ahead and sent me their out of pocket estimate without looking into why I was denied, and in my opinion, tried to cheat me out of $500. Needless to say I went and got a second opinion, and turns out I did not need the procedure after all and was able to get a regular cleaning done.

HOWEVER, I will say that this is the first time from start to finish. I changed dentist due to my work and location so this past winter I was looking for a new dentist. I asked a co worker of mine and she recommended this dentist. I did my own research and decided to give it a whirl. The front office staff was great. And my hygienist was knowledgable, talked me through everything and even made a note in my chart about preferences much appreciated. Additionally, they do provide fluoride for their adult patients. This is crucial and I've been getting this ever since I've gone to the dentist. Meeting the dentist was great, she was personable and shared her advice with me about my concerns. She did not force me into any decisions and said it was my choice but she would air on the side of conservative treatment. Overall, it was a great experience and honestly I am not dreading my next appointment.

I have an illnesses which causes me to vomit frequently, sometimes with no warning. I had an episode while in the Martin Dentistry office some time ago. It's not as though they didn't know or hadn't seen it. However, after being late to an appointment which was rescheduled I was ridiculed. Call me silly but I didn't want to uncontrollably vomit all over the dentist or hygienist. Frankly, it's a health risk. I could've easily choked on my vomit during treatment. You can be the best dentist but with an unprofessional, patient facing staff you will eventually lose business. Side note, somehow the office suppressed my Google review. Now I consider them unreliable.

They say my name as well as hi as soon as I walk through the door. I never have to tell them who I am. I usually get brought back within 5 minutes of my arrival. I also decided to have Dr. Kimmel do my wisdom teeth removal here instead of going to a surgery center. He did a great job I had no dry sockets or any infection. They have probably made lots of money off my fam because we always have cavities!! Lol but it is a great family place we will continue to go to for years. But honestly everyone in this clinic is always so professional and kind, truly a great atmosphere. I feel as if I'm one of those clients that can be hard to work with and has anxiety with dental work. I also ask every question that I can. I never get eye rolls or treated less than. They always calm me down and reassure me. I recently had a root canal done - can't believe I'm saying this but it was painless. Vogt and Merrissa made it a somewhat less anxious experience too by talking to me through it all. I have been going to this clinic since Vogt opened the doors. He has since switched insurance coverage and I am no longer covered here. However, I love this place so much I still drive 45 mins and pay out of pocket.
