Well, this shop is thankfully bucking the trend selling choccy bars for the 35 - 50p mark, crisps and even drinks the same. What's more, the staff are really lovely and polite. I've just got a job near this shop and I'm sure I'll be saving loads ever month because the stock is reasonably priced (I used to work near McColls on Temple Way). I find it very satisfying that the shop is still there and looks pretty much as I remember it as a kid. Whilst it's changed hands a few times over the years it's still a reassuring fixture of the Kingstanding Road. These days I drop in once a month or so to buy tobacco, or some other 'essential' (is tobacco an essential?) as I pass through Kingstanding. As well as a newsagent this is also an off licence - it wasn't like that in my Granddad's day! - so, if the mood takes you, you can always pick up a beer or two for a reasonable price.

The shop itself is a newsagents and offers a very wide selection of confectionary, magazines, newspapers and stationary. However they also run a fantastic daily newspaper delivery service to the surrounding villages. We have received a daily paper from them for over 20 years. They are also friendly shopkeepers, and always welcoming when entering the shop. All in all a highly recommended service to anyone new coming into the area who wants a reliable paper delivery service.

He always has something funny to say about the weather...it's never as warm as India! Laughing at me as I walked in drenched and looking like a drowned rat, he had no shame in telling me all about the sun, the heat and the warm evenings he enjoys back at home. Weather aside, the shop is really good for fruit and veg, alcohol supplies and the general items you expect to find in a newsagent. I usually come in here for water, which I usually resent buying, but the bottled water is sooooo cheap here- around 30p.

This store is not just a newsagents but a hardware store, gift shop, nic nack type store. They sell a huge varity of hardware items, from nails, screws and bolts to power tools, washing lines and ironing boards. There gift range again is varied from presents ranging from 1 pounds upwards, from little magnets up to vases and clocks etc. They also sell loads of magazines, papers etc and sweets and drinks etc, which is probally their main bread and butter. The staff are great, and the gentleman whom owns the store is great and any help you need when it comes to hardware/diy problems, he is an expert and is only too happy to help. Great store, great staff and great prices.
