I made countless calls and emails trying to just get confirmation that the taxes would be handled and filed with no response. I had countless conversations w their assistant and was told each time that my call would be returned, but it never was. I finally gave up and went with another company. When I emailed the accountant to let them know I did not need or want his services he responded immediately with an excuse and had the nerve to say he could still file my taxes (a day before the deadline). This behavior is absolutely reckless and unprofessional and shouldn't be tolerated w such sensitive and personal information and such an important issue. They're messing with people's lives and run the risk of making people have to file for an extension and accrue penalties. If you can't take on a customer and are overloaded then let them know so they can make other arrangements instead of stringing them along. This is no way to treat a customer.

I started working with Robert P. Russo, CPA, PC in regard to my 2018 income tax filing. I had been using another firm who had created a huge problem for me both personally and for my business. Most of my contact was with Bob, Claire & Susy and they were able to make the necessary corrections to get me and my company back on track. Throughout 2019 I have maintained contact with this firm and convinced that not only my past issues totally resolved but that we also have taken the appropriate action to avoid any potential future problems. First, the front desk & whoever answers the phone we're so friendly but when I met Robert he turned me down before even looking at my tax return. Stating "I don't want to take your money". I appreciate his honesty but I'd remind him that I made a trip to his office & you should always treat everyone with some level of respect. Not quite sure what he was using as an indicator to not take me on as a client but I've never heard of a CPA firm making someone feel like I was wasting "their" time. Mind you, he still has no clue what my 2017 take home was. WTH is that. Can't help but think he prejudged me. Matter of a fact he recorded I use Turbo Tax. Wow. My advice to Robert is to commit the time you promise, 1hr, look at a person's return to understand their taxes, & let them come to a final conclusion if they would like to pay to your fee. Otherwise you have people like myself confused as to how you made your assessment that I wasn't worth taking on. News flash my demographic is the new future "hypos" of the world...do your research on the word & demographic. I am disappointed.

I had a sensitive and unique issue that could only be addressed by a CPA. But not just any CPA, I needed someone that was knowledgeable and would be able to defend their work in case of an audit. After searching around, I came across Ahad & Co and what a relief and blessing they are. I simply called them, explained my issue, then I was connected with one of their professionals. The CPA confirmed that it was something they could tackle and we began the process. At the time, I was working with Tarikur, an absolute treasure to work with! He explained what needed to be done, asked all pertinent questions, and guided me thru the process. In the end, I came back with an awesome refund, and greater than that, I had a peace of mind with regard to my situation. Fast forward to 2026, I did not hesitate to have them prepare my taxes again. Unfortunately, Tarikur is no longer there, but I was assisted by Akram. There were some delays but he completed my taxes before the deadline and his did a great job preparing everything. I found it very easy to review my return and understand his rationale for his preparation. Furthermore, I received a great return again and I could not be more pleased! Aside from my experience with the staff, I really appreciate their customer portal. There is no need to email anything because you can upload all of your documents to their secure portal. You can also chat with your rep, pay your invoices, and download your returns, all in one place. I especially appreciated that as a returning customer, all my documents were there, so Akram was able to see what was done last year. Super efficient! In terms of pricing, they will seem high if you are used to doing your own taxes or maybe you've gone to a local tax preparer. However, it's important to understand that these are true tax experts who can navigate any situation, so you're in good hands. If you are dealing with a sensitive tax situation and want a peace of mind, I highly recommend using them. I will definitely be returning in the future, even if I do not have a sensitive situation, as I truly appreciate their service. Thank you Ahad & Co.!

I reached out to them months later inquiring about the filing for another matter and they casually informed me they never filed them. They offered plenty of excuses, blamed me for filing them within the legal submission parameters (i.e. on/by April 15th), and offered zero compensation for their egregious error. They actually proceeded to charge me the full amount to file and even expected me to pay the late-filing & extension fees that I incurred as a direct and sole result of an accounting firm's inability to file taxes! Every single representative I have dealt with is allergic to accountability and deals exclusively in excuses. Shameful and unprofessional behavior all around... especially from Edderkys Gonzalez and the ceo, Ahad Ali. He is full of excuses all while admitting they screwed up. They offered $100 off of preparation service for this year...I immediately declined. Then they offered $200 off and I immediately declined. That is a fraction of what they cost me already from last year in late penalties alone and the ceo told me the absolute most he could discount tax preparation at his own company was $200. Clearly a lie. He's the ceo of a small, private, company...not the ceo of Goldman Sachs.

My last straw with a declining business. This stems back to a dispute from last tax year--they did not review my return carefully, resulting in a careless error in reporting out of state income I documented and a five-month delay in getting my state refund. They were casual and non-communicative about a letter from the state with a deadline for response, to which I had to rush a reply to get a postmark to be in legal compliance. They were indifferent that a significant refund was at stake. In a previous year, a server went down and they lost all returns. Careless. Another year we had to submit additional documentation to the state as they said that their software had a glitch which affected many clients' returns. Bureaucratic and unreliable. Tony used to provide a personal touch. But it's a large bureaucratic operation, he doesn't even give a simply reply like "I'm working on this matter" when he is CC'd on an urgent matter. The receptionist tell you "it was on Tony's calendar for last week," not "Tony has taken care of this." It used to be in person annual appointments, then went to Zoom, and then became by telephone. The amount of time was reduced very year, even as fees outpaced inflation. It's overpriced, and the service and reliability are not at all what they used to be. Tony used to be a nice guy and very professional, but he's only a shadow of what he used to be.
