I meant…read moreto write a review ages and ages ago but forgot until I was chatting to my dentist (the always lovely Dr Rose: http://www.yelp.com/biz/bite-dental-toronto-2) yesterday. Works out well, really. I can assess the longer term outcomes! I ended up with Dr Rittenberg after the oral surgeon I had been seeing packed up and left for Barrie. He was handsome, but my love for him had faded quite a bit-he didn't really indulge my (slightly obsessive) need to know all the details of my treatment-so I was less devastated than you'd think to end up switching oral surgeons midway through my course of treatment. I was pretty apprehensive at the first meeting, however. I felt like I'd been left in the lurch by the previous guy and that I really hadn't been given as much information as I'd like. Five minutes after meeting Dr R, I knew I was going to be happy. He pandered to my curious nature, answered all my questions and wasn't remotely condescending. I felt like I was participating in my treatment plan. Just like with my regular dentist! He was very thorough and very personable-including actually sitting down to speak to me instead of rushing through the consultation. The actual procedure was a breeze. I'd had something similar done before and it was long and tedious. In Dr R's hands it was short and ridiculously easy. I've had more traumatic cleanings. He has the air of someone who has done all of this a million times before. And I'm pretty sure he has! Follow-up was also good and there were no surprises with billing. The work has stood the test of time and I've had zero problems since then. I've recommended him to a colleague who was also very happy and thought the procedure was effortless too. It's worth noting that the nurses in the department have great faith in him. ALWAYS trust the nurses. They know what's what. Failing that, trust me: someone who has a mouth full of dental work. I've done it all!

The office is busy on the weekends, but the staff is friendly and very organized. Consultations don't feel rushed, the surgeon makes sure you are very well informed of your assessment and lets you know exactly what to expect, so you can make well-informed decisions. Wisdom tooth removal appointment only took a few mins. I was in and out in 15 minutes! That includes signing the consent form, payment, setting up a follow-up appointment, and the whole wisdom tooth extraction procedure. Bottomline: a very smooth-sailing and fast and easy procedure. Because the surgeon is good and very knowledgeable, there were no complications in the procedure. I recommend Dr. Benjamin Li to anyone looking for a good oral surgeon. Oh, and they also call you a couple days later to check how you are doing, and to let you know you can always call if you have any questions or concerns. Review 86 of 100

I was able to book an urgent wisdom tooth extraction with them even w/o referral. They contacted…read morethe previous dentist I saw that told me to do extraction and was able to pull my record. Great customer service, even over the phone they are so informative and caring. They booked me in the next few days after learning my condition, and they even had the doctor come in earlier than their operation time just to squeeze me in. As you can imagine, I was super nervous and in general very anxious with anything dental/surgery related. But, Dr Kanaan and the nurse walked me through the process and made me feel comfortable. The procedure started with check ins (questions) and then a 360 Xray (which is by far the smoothest dental X-ray I've ever experienced). Then Dr Kanaan came in and did a consultation, explained to me the whole process and the options for anesthesia. I chose IV anesthesia and they walked me through the steps how it will happen. They gave me laughing gas to calm my nerves then inserted the IV where the anesthesia went in. All the staff were very nice and caring throughout the whole process. The last thing I remember was I Dr Kanaan putting a dental pillow inside my mouth, and then I got woken up by the nurse with my gauze already on. It felt like I just closed my eyes and when I opened them up, the deed is done. After the procedure they helped me walked around the room to get a feel of my surroundings. Asked me a couple of random questions to check my consciousness and then explained to me and my partner the process of after care. They don't cover insurance payment but they do send the paperwork and claim for you. I ended up paying $1000 including everything but it's totally worth it! The service is 10/10 and they also sent me the X-ray copies right after. It was overall a great experience! You could totally trust them with any extractions in the future. I highly recommend!

Durham Oral Surgeons is probably the most fortunate thing that could come out of having to have…read moreyour wisdom teeth extracted. I was referred here by my friend, who happens to be a general surgeont o Dr. Chi-Chia Tai. There are a team of oral surgeons working here and their supporting staff definitely play leading roles in the overall experience at Durham Oral Surgery. The office itself is tucked away on a side street next to a Ford dealership and is an antique home conversion. They were extremely organized. When I checked in, they knew exactly who I was, and ticked me off their roster. I was scheduled in for a 9:45AM. It took me about 5 minutes to fill out a form (as I had never been before), and within 5 minutes I was whisked away for an x-ray. Make sure you take all jewellery from the neck up off (I forgot to take off my earings! Oops!) After that, the ladies processed my insurance claim. I am so glad I have group health benefits. Can you believe that wisdom teeth extraction (1 side = 2 teeth) comes in at a hefty price tag of $1000+ dollars?! Shortly after I was asked to watch an informative video regarding wisdom teeth extraction, and then Dr. Tai appeared. He was very informative, and easy to understand. He explained what he suggested, and asked me if I had any questions. Shortfly after the consultation, the nurse took me into the operating room. I underwent general anesthetics, and the surgery went painlessly. Sooner than I knew it, I was waking up and escorted to the waiting room where I was given instructions about the next few days and what to expect and to give you the date of your follow-up appointment. The nurse walks you straight out to your car (of course, William T was nice enough to take me as you cannot drive after surgery). The service doesn't end there. The day after surgery, you will receive a check-up phone call just to see how you are doing. I have worked in the medical field before, and the biggest guffaw about surgery is usually that there is no after-care. Most surgeons just want to do the operating, and then be rid of you. They also called me this morning to remind/confirm my follow-up appointment. I would definitely recommend going to Durham Oral Surgery to anyone who has to get their wisdom teeth removed.
