Where to begin! This was my absolute first massage, and my mother recommended going to John French Massage Therapy and getting a massage from Ashley Hines. It was a very relaxing atmosphere, and Ashley was incredibly sweet and kind. I got my back and neck done, and it was the most incredible massage in the history of massages! I have been seeing Mr. French for over two years now on a regular bi-weekly bases and I have NEVER gotten a bad massage or treatment. He is very attuned to my muscle-skelton needs and addresses each with me before beginning the new treatment. I saw John French for the first time this weekend. I was visiting friends in Gainesville and was experiencing terrible back pain. I have received many massages at John French Massage Therapy. The facility is very clean. The atmosphere is soothing and relaxing. Ashley Hines is an excellent massage therapist. She is professional, takes time to go over your history and discuss any issues you may be having. Then she will focus on those problem areas with deep tissue massage. I have also had the hot bamboo massage and found it very effective for releasing muscle tension. Ashley also gives an excellent relaxation message as well. I highly recommend her. I had a couple of massages with Gary Reeser and he is very good. I also scheduled a couple of massages with John French and he is excellent. Both have excellent techniques and are very involved in what they are trying to accomplish. Either will let you get your massage in complete silence or be glad to have a conversation with you while you are getting your massage ... or anything in between. I have given and received many massages, but visited John today for my first professional appointment and first by a male. It was great! John was very professional and, as another reviewer mentioned, personable. Any gut-level awkwardness trepidation I held melted away very quickly and the massage incorporated a little bit of everything. I was immediately impressed by the calm environment of the waiting area. It was lovely. But it was John's professionalism that was so comforting. He put me at ease immediately, as we discussed my history and he listened to my somewhat lengthy commentaries on the same. Ashley was my husbands massage therapist and she was wonderful! Very knowledgeable, kind and caring. Wants to make sure her client is comfortable. Explains all details of what she is going to do. Takes her time, does not rush you! Her room is clean, soft music, & comfortable. I would recommend Ashley to everyone! We still have about 10 visits left. Buyer beware, they do not honor their groupons. They made it extremely difficult to make an appointment, then only allowed us to set appointments after the expiration date. They then called the day of the appointment and canceled saying it was non-refundable because it was expired.
