Been here 2x upon recommendation referral from a friend with significant lower back pain issues…read more.. I have chronic stiffness and ache in mine as well, from an old mtn biking accident... So, Dee went to this guy, upon recommendation from her trainer...(who is a female competitive body builder), and said he worked miracles on her. He was very thorough in the consult, and asked many questions, seemed to have an excellent analytical process, referenced a clinical textbook section on body movement and function as infants, correlated to the required baseline of movement in adulthood. Very logical and supported treatment approach. Also, looks like he has multiple certifications in addition to his chiropractic degree... validated by his ability to poke my lower back like Spock or Xena... and magically make the achy stiffness better. I've gone to at least 8-9 chiropractors over the years... with little or minimal effect... this guy is really good. If my lower back improves in the next few months, I will up this to 5 stars.

(My low back pain and sciatica were so bad, I could not sit in a chair to work and was crawling around my house since I couldn't walk.) But now I will hopefully be playing tennis next summer! Dr. Goerschler takes a holistic view of your issues, an approach which is sadly lacking with most healthcare professionals these days. He will focus on you completely during your visit. This careful attention, in combination with intelligence, experience and intuition, allows him to help you heal to an extent you never imagined was possible! After three surgeries from two doctors in this group, I'm fully qualified to review their practice…read more My first surgery was by Dr. Tingle, who repaired a torn (shredded) rotator cuff. I saw several other orthopedic doctors over the years who misdiagnosed the problem. Rehab only made it worse. When I was referred to Dr. Tingle, he did a CAT Scan and saw a small tear. We scheduled the surgery, and he found the tendon had completely torn off the shoulder. Their surgeries are done in the Outpatient Surgical Center at Northwest Community Hospital. The recovery from this kind of surgery is long and painful. It's been over seven years, and I almost have full motion back to that arm. In fairness, I was very flexible, so I have better than 100% of a normal range of motion, but I can't quite reach where I used to be. I started having problems with my feet a couple of years ago. Bunions were growing on both feet. They were tolerable until they were not. Dr. Abraham works on feet, and I saw him at the beginning of 2022. I had surgery on my left foot in March. He warned me that the big toe was very arthritic, and he wasn't sure how much ligament was left. If it was bad, he said he might need to fuse the toe. If not, he would ease arthritis and correct the bunion. He suggested that if he felt the fusion was needed during the surgery, he would stop so we could discuss it. I did not want two surgeries on the same foot, so I told him to fuse it if it had to be fused. That's what happened. After I had two days of pain, then another. Six weeks in a boot with the ability to start driving again in two weeks was amazing. Two weeks after not using the boot, I went on an active trip to Ireland, which involved walking, hiking, claiming, and bicycling. and more. Aside from some expected swelling, I had no pain. It was great. When we returned, we scheduled the right foot in October. This was my dominant foot and my driving foot, so this would be personally problematic. The surgery went very well, and fusion wasn't needed. This time, a full eight weeks in the boot, plus two more just in case. I was able to drive at six weeks, What I find best about this practice are two things: (1) everyone on their staff is nice, attentive, and caring - from the front desk staff to the nurses and doctors, and even billing. (2) Their aftercare is second to none. Both Doctors always had time to talk, to see me if needed, and to ensure we had appointments scheduled until I would be released. While I hope I'll never have to revisit them, it is only since I hope I never need orthopedic surgery again. After a lifetime of activity and osteoarthritis, I'll likely return. After being released this morning, I learned that Dr. Abraham is retiring. He's giving up his practice to work full-time at the VA Hospital. What a mensch!

They helped me understand how my…read moreinjury happened, what each piece of my shoulder was, how it worked, and what the problems were. They explained everything we did and hoe it correlated to recovering from my injury. This was key for me. Understanding the 'how' and 'why' makes it much easier for me to commit myself to anything. They worked me hard and put me on the right path to not only living pain-free, but growing in strength and flexibility. My posture is better than its ever been, and thanks to them, it will continue improving. now that I understand how to balance my muscles and how and why stretching affects my body. These two pushed me 3 steps closer to becoming superman. Their inherent knowledge of every bone, muscle, and ligament, how they interact, and how different movements, stretches, and exercises can change the human machine as a whole is both immediately apparent and impressive. Seeing that complete understanding made it very easy to trust in everything that asked of me, as well as everything they asked me to pull the reigns on. I don't do well with being told what to do. I'm bull-headed. I don't accept anything without understanding the logic behind it. It was clear from the beginning that they knew much more than enough to satisfy my need to believe there was sound reasoning for every part of my therapy with them. That trust paid off; I'm doing fantastic! An additional note: Whether or not it's intentional, Kate naturally creates a feeling of community while in the building. She gets everyone talking and interacting while we're going through the often times uncomfortable or painful stretches, exercises, and the myofascial (i just had to google that) releases with the metal tools that look like the back end of a wrench. That made every part of the therapy a lot easier for me, and definitely a few others there. It's easier to take the pain when someone cracks a joke, and we all felt comfortable enough to do so. I am very, very thankful for this.

Kate saw me for a hip and ankle injury that had been persisting for months that I could not get explanations for from my primary doctor. She knew exactly what was going on by the end of the evaluation and explained my injuries in a way I could understand - which was such a relief after months of not knowing! I eventually needed surgery for a torn ligament in my ankle, Kate referred me to a new surgeon who was just as personable, kind and professional as her! My surgery went well and I'm back for more sessions. I'm noticing progress already and look forward to laughing during my therapy with Kate, Mark and Page! Everyone genuinely loves what they do here which makes the clinic super inviting and fun! Check them out, you won't be disappointed!

This letter I'm sending the doctor today should give you a pretty good idea of what I think of this…read moreplace: "Yesterday my husband had an appointment at 3:40 p.m. with you to get a cast put on his recently broken wrist. When we walked into your office, we knew that we were in for a long wait given that the waiting room was so full there were not even chairs enough for both of us to sit, but we hoped for the best. Come an hour after our appointment time, we still had not been seen and the waiting room had seen very little movement. I heard the receptionist speaking in Spanish to another patient, and could discern enough to know she was asking if the patient could come back tomorrow. That was when I knew there was probably no hope of being seen anytime soon. So we asked the receptionist how many people were ahead of my husband, and she politely told us that there were three or four ahead of us, confirming my suspicion. The receptionist asked us if we would like to schedule him another appointment the next day, but we, of course, declined. We grabbed his forms and walked out. After all, why would we come back to risk another day of sitting around without being seen? The epidemic of doctors' offices running late has almost become the norm, and I regularly expect to wait around thirty minutes to be taken back to a room. This expectation being the norm is in and of itself a real problem, but what your office did to us is outrageously disrespectful. Had we actually waited around to see you, given the flow (or lack thereof) of the waiting room, I seriously question whether we would have even been seen two hours after his scheduled appointment. Like you, most of us have jobs, and in order to come to the doctor we take time away from those jobs or just end up having to allocate time later in the evening that would otherwise be spent with family to catch up on missed time for jobs that are not your regular "9 to 5." Beyond the fact that we may be missing work to see you, our time is otherwise valuable, and certainly no less valuable than yours. I understand emergencies come up in practicing medicine, and while I cannot necessarily think of any that would come up in ortho I'm sure they happen. But regardless, keeping us waiting as long as you did is likely not a product of emergencies, but simply poor planning and overbooking. I hope as you move forward you will consider the value of your patients' time and practice better time management. At the very least, you could consider asking the receptionist to let patients know that there is a large delay so that they could simply come later rather than waiting around."

Dr. Karm and her staff do amazing work!…read more I have been an athlete my entire life: competitive swimmer- turned Crossfitter- turned Orange Theory addict. In July 2021, after seeing an orthopedic doctor and receiving a round of HA gel injections previously, my knee was in an abundance of pain. I could barely walk and it was affecting my ability to work, workout, drive and do normal activities with friends and family. At the advice of a friend, I called Active Care. I had never been to a Chiropractor before but was desperate for help. I was welcomed with friendly faces, a clean and open office, an insurance sheet that told me exactly how much I would owe for what and when, and Doctors with positive attitudes, outgoing personalities, and who truly want the best for you. I saw Dr. Freseth who created a plan for me that included rehabilitation, adjustments, exams, and regular massages with Cheryl. Every rehab session turned into "work and talk" discussions about food, life, athleisurewear and healthy living which made me excited to keep coming back and motivated to keep up my progress. Anytime I have a question about my account statement, I receive a response in less than an hour. By November 2021, I was pain free, back to working out 6x a week, and running faster every day. In February 2022, I had a 2.3 second PR on a 500m row benchmark at Orange Theory, which I credit to Cheryl's massage work earlier in the day and the continued work of the Active Care team on this former athlete's creaky joints.
