I don't even know the new dentist's name, and my family has been to the office for 5 appointments after the transition, because only one of us has actually SEEN him - and then only the one time. I had gone in for a cleaning and check up, and the hygenist told me that she couldn't do it because I "had severe gum disease and needed a deep cleaning" or the resulting damage to my bone would cause me to lose my teeth, and that I needed a filling. She did take X rays. My husband went to the same office a couple of months later. The hygenist told him that he "had severe gum disease and needed a deep cleaning" or the resulting damage to HIS bone would cause him to lose his teeth. They did do a cleaning, and he saw the elusive dentist at this time. My daughter went to the same office on the same day as her dad. She was told she had a cavity, but her gums were swollen from "severe gum disease" and the cavity was too close to the gums, which would mean filling it would cause her gums to bleed. They told her to use an Oral B electric toothbrush to get the gum disease under control and made her an appointment to come back later. Then my mother (who lives at a different address from us) went to the same dentist a week later and was told she "had severe gum disease and needed a deep cleaning" or the resulting damage would cause her to lose her teeth. No cleaning was done. My daughter went back to have her filling done. They said they couldn't do it because her gums would bleed, and never made a follow up appointment. My appointment for the filling was cancelled because the dentist would not be available. Our insurance denied authorization for the deep cleanings, stating it was not necessary based on the X rays. Upon hearing about our experience and how everything she was told was identical to what we were told, my mother went to a different dentist and was told she did NOT have severe gum disease and did NOT need a deep cleaning. Overall, what was once a wonderful office to go to for your dental service has become useless if you actually need anything, even minor care, done. I would highly recommend you go anywhere else.

10/10 dentist, dental hygienists, and dental assistants…read more -100/10 billing department. I've been having issues with a bill and claim not being submitted correctly to my insurance repeatedly. Actually, my insurance STILL doesn't have a claim filed. My insurance provides 100% coverage for the care I received and instead of fixing the issue, the billing department is extremely rude, mouthy, ignores emails, and doesn't call patients back. Dr. Tanner, I truly hope you realize how your patients are being treated and that you address this situation immediately.

Like many of us, I have never been much of a fan of dentists. Since I started with Kingsport…read moreDentistry, and specifically, Dr. David Mathers, my tune has changed. Today the most amazing thing happened. I went in to get a new crown. Dr. David was look working with Lisa his assistant. I don't know if it was the gas they gave me or just the positive energy they sent out, but we had so much fun. The jokes, the light humor, the laughing at ourselves. It was great. So you don't think I'm totally unbelievable, I didn't like the drilling. Or the shot. But this has been a very positive experience with the dentist, which I've always thought was kind of an oxymoron. I see Amanda for cleaning, and she's great, too. We tend to give dentists a bad rap, but if you want to experience something different, I highly recommend Kingsport Dentistry. PS: I received no compensation or bribery for this review !

I can not say enough about this place. Kingsport dentistry has changed the way I feel about going…read moreto the dentist. I recently went there for a tooth extraction. I couldn't get into my normal dentist before my upcoming vacation. The day of my appointment my anxiety was high because this was the first time I was going to be awake. From the time I walked in, I was greeted by smiles. Everyone made me feel so welcome and tried their best to quelch my anxiety. I had the nitrous oxide (new to me bc I'm usually put to sleep). This helped me, but what also helped was the kind staff. The dental hygienist Lisa was so nice. I felt safe and in good hands. Dr David Mathers was very kind and considerate of my fears. I made the decision to switch my dental care to Kingsport Dentistry. The entire staff helped me to jump the hurdle of being scared of the dentist and get on the right track to cross the finish line to better dental health.

I saw "The Kingsport Team" last month. After saw DDS, she advised plan for OVER $6k work!…read more Week later, my orthopedic surgeon said needed a thoracic vertebrae replacement. Unbeknownst to me...I was required to have my personal physician AND my dentist sign off on neck procedure. My dr (having been seeing him regularly for over 4 years) signed off with no trepidation. Aspen DUNTal - MY ONE & ONLY VISIT there - said FOR THEM to sign off - would require the $3k cleaning PRIOR to surgery. Would not sign off until that procedure was completed. So very typical of a bunch of ne'er do wells!! I do NOT disparage AT ALL the competence of the dentists. What was so shocking was the business practice put in place ("for my safety."). Went to another practice on (3/14). Two in office signed off on it - a dental surgeon and hygienist. Teeth cleaned...& very well too - to boot. I had gone to office with singular purpose: to seek permission for surgery. Although I had to travel out-of-state for the office visit - it was well worth it. They not only granted my request...they faxed the paperwork to my surgeon's office - twice - line busy. They didn't even charge for the faxes! MY ADVICE: STAY FAR AWAY FROM ASPEN DUntal - UNLESS MONEY IS NO ISSUE - ever!!! Suggestion to any: perhaps investing your time & money in a "hometown dental practice." It sure may be more rewarding than aligning with the "super, chain-store mentality." I will not waste anymore time on this site...but am really curious about how the "corporate spin" on this will be. Someone...at EVERY Aspen DUntal site has "the job" of addressing (or...hopefully reading) patient issues and concerns. Am sure position is very lucrative and time-consuming!

The end total I paid was $31,158.20. The so-called discounts never materialized. The biggest issue was the snap-on dentures were ill fitted and painful to wear. The dental assistant had no idea on how to resolve the issue. Bottom line was I went to a different dentist, and he resolved the issue with in 2 visits at an additional cost. Be aware you will most likely be over billed for a poor-quality product.
