I can't find the proper words to truly describe this Dentist, his wife and his staff so I'll just sum it up to the BEST!!! I am not originally from this area and since I've been residing here (since 1984) I've had 2 dentists. I like to stick with my Drs unless there's a very good reason to change. I had a very good dentist who was taking great care of my family and I - and we had no complaints. I was not looking for another dentist when I met Natalie Maddox. She had a beautiful smile and awesome personality so I felt no hesitation asking the name of her dentist. She told me her dentist is also her husband. I felt compelled to schedule a cleaning to check out this place. That was February 2004 when I had my first cleaning with them. I then had a little dental work and haven't looked back! He is the most gentle and personable man! He has skills and his techniques would put the most apprehensive, "dentist fearing person" at ease!!! My family and i will be patients of his as long as he is in practice - and that will be for a very long time since he's a pretty young man... Not too young for those of you not willing to trust a younger person They're also very considerate about working their patients in for emergencies without trying to bankrupt you in the process; as many practices are known for. Anyone considering going to a new dentist should look up their license on https://www.dentalboard.org. If you look up John Maddox, you will discover he has a public file. You can request a copy of that public file. The contents may shock you, but they will explain a lot. It also explains why his wife (Natalie) is a bit neurotic. Why doesn't he prescribe pain meds after he has caused a problem that results in pain? He can't! Why does he want to refer you to an endodontist after he has screwed a tooth up? That's his only option. Why are they obsessed about reviews? They are paranoid about more people discovering the truth. Find another dentist, but look them up on the dental boards website first. Beware of other review sites that censor and screen the bad reviews. read more

Dr. Maddox has been my dentist since he began his practice. I recommend him to everyone I know. My entire family; my husband, my 15 year old, two adult children and now my mom, use Dr. Maddox. I was born in Fairhope and have been to 5 local dentists before I came here. I have had at least 9 root canals, so I have some experience. Dr. Maddox gives great shots! At 2 previous dentists I would forgo the numbing because the shots were too painful. The entire office staff are friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. I won't go anywhere else! read more

My family has been a patient of Dr Maddox for 6+ years. Unlike every other Doctor out there, you NEVER have to wait to see him or his staff (the best ever I might add) past your appointed time. He is very caring and practices the most up-to date techniques in his field. I can't tolerate mouth pain at all and he makes sure I'm not in any at all! No need for a pediatric dentist here. Dr Maddox (and his staff(did I mention how wonderful they are)) are awesome with young children. I recommend him to everyone that asks about a GREAT dentist. read more

My kids and I started seeing Dr. Maddox a few years ago after our former dentist retired and we absolutely adore him and his office staff! They are always very accommodating and we have never had to wait more than a couple of minutes to be taken back. My youngest has Down syndrome and is sometimes fearful in unfamiliar situations - they are incredibly patient and kind when dealing with him. Highly recommend! read more

I recently had my routine check-up and everything looked good..it is always a pleasant experience in Dr. Maddox's office. I don't need any work done this go around but I've had plenty of dental work done there...a most pleasant atmosphere, very confident in his abilities, never any pain, awesome staff..couldn't be more pleased and wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Dr. Maddox has been my dentist for more than ten years. He is competent and kind along with his fine staff. I am not the easiest patient to deal since I am overly sensitive and fearful.
