Don't usually post about businesses, but do not recommend this clinic. I just arrived to my…read moreappointment to which they had no record of, even though I received a confirmation email and text. They mentioned a "machine was down" and are understaffed so couldn't squeeze me in- even though I showed confirmation of my appointment. It's disappointing to not be able to receive service as I had prepped and commuted for my second treatment and was basically turned down which is also delaying the process. Unfortunately for this clinic, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I went there to get my pubic hair, incl. surrounding areas, removed…read more The ladies there are friendly and also a mistake on their side in the prepayment was corrected generously. The first 5 sessions have been not painful. However, my last 6th session was hurtful. I don't know why, but maybe that particular lady (usually I had another person treating me) got the settings wrong. I mentioned to her that it feels unusual very painful, but she believed I was wrong. On the following 2nd/ 3td day, some small areas of my skin (at my sack) turned black, fell off and creating a moist wound. It is itching but healing now, ... I guess. (And no, I never had a skin infection anything like this before, nor can I imagine any other possible causes for this.) It is possible understandable that I am not all too happy about this. To avoid infections, I have to cancel my swimming until my skin is healed again. In general the ladies there are really nice and probably good in what they do. And even so this company has relatively lowe prizes in Sydney, I decided to get my last treatments somewhere else. (I have not decided wher, so can't give any recommendations.)

This beauty salon is quite literally a 'hall'. It is a very narrow establishment in the heart of…read moreBondi Beach but it manages to fit everything in that a gal needs to feel pretty. Something about always getting my nails done by people of Asian decent who don't speak English, makes me feel a little iffy. I like that in Hall of Beauty you get girls who chat with you while doing you're nails and you don't feel like you're forcing them into slave labor. Woah, okay that's coming off a little wrong but I hope you know what I mean. Apart from nails they have all sorts of beauty treatments that range from facials, to waxing to an array of weight loss procedures. I've been a few times for the cellulite treatment and I can't say I've seen a huge improvement, I think they're better at the classics. Facials and waxing are their forte and the staff are always nice, professional and chatty.

I was 15 minutes early for my leg waxing appointment, as I generally am, and the lady at the desk…read moretold me to wait in the waiting room and disappeared out the back, I assumed to finish whatever client she was working on. Then I noticed that she was in fact sitting in the next room watching the Sex & The City movie- no wonder she was in such a rush as she checked me in! A friend of hers showed up, obviously unexpected due to the way they greeted each other, and she took her straight out the back for a treatment. The time of my appointment came and went (only by about 5 minutes and to be fair I never expect salons to be bang on time because every client is different. But I did happen to be on a tight schedule that day) Another woman came in and sat with me, then a young beautician appeared from out the back and rather than asking our names and what time our appointments were, asked us what we were having done. The lady next to me said, "I'm in that first room"- obviously some kind of machine she was embarrassed to say out loud, fair enough- and the young beautician without a word to me ushered her straight out the back. This did kind of bug me, as someone who has worked in customer service as a server and as a manager I am a firm believer in communicating with the client. She reappeared about five minutes later (felt like ten) and when I asked why she took the other lady first when I'd been sitting there for 20 minutes, explained that the woman was on a machine that is left unattended. Fair enough I suppose but had she told me that in the first place or checked our appointment times I wouldn't have felt so annoyed and all that I would be writing would be: my wax was fine - fast and except for one small patch, pretty efficient.

Unlike other places in town that…read morejust slap on some creams and massage them around and call it a facial Escape Day Spa does proper extractions. I don't know about you, but if I'm going to shell out $100 clams for a service I expect them to get.shit.done. Or in this case, get.shit.out. And that's exactly what they did- I left knowing that a bunch of nasties had just been pulled out of my face, leaving my skin feeling so much better. The Escape facial is 60 minutes and includes tons of the relaxing bit as well- head and scalp massage, mini shoulder massage as well as the facial part of things. I told my lady to "dig in deep" and she happily obliged. Well worth the price in my opinion as you don't need a facial that often- you may as well get a great one!

And I've fallen asleep so many times in an Escape facial or massage because they are so GOOD!! I just wish I had the time to come to Bondi more often to get them. Ok you might be thinking (especially if you're a guy), aren't they all the same? Cleaning, moisturising, exfoliation, a bit of massage? I can tell you now, they're not. I went to one reputable day spa in the Sydney CBD and the lady starting hitting my face as part of the treatment! Also the more massage there is the better. Especially scalp. Omg, this is the bomb. Always try to go to a place that does scalp massage as part of your facial. In terms of treatments, I usually go for the signature facial for 60min but you can get other treatments complementing your facial, or body treatments, laser, spray tan, waxing, the works. The only drawback for Escape is the price. Not cheap, but then I've been around the traps and all of them ain't cheap these days. This place is reputable, been around for a while and the treatments are designed to be super relaxing. Highly recommend.
