I've steered clear of using this service, mainly because I usually buy a day saver with West Midlands; so when Joe's turns up, I have to dismiss it.
I finally used this bus on an occasion when I was travelling one way. I'd hoped that the service would be cheaper than West Midlands, but unfortunately, it still costs £1.90 for a single!
Joe's buses themselves are very 80s looking, old and outdated, although well maintained. Inside, they're not any newer looking, and the seats are very close together. This resulted in my knees being squashed against the back of the person's seat in front, which wasn't too comfortable! (And I'm not even overly tall!)
Frequency is a major issue with Joe's Travel, and if there were more buses with set times, people might be more inclined to use them. However, saying that, during my trip on the service, lots of customers were getting onboard. (More people seemed to be traveling with Joe's than you usually see on Diamond buses in fact!)
With more modernistic and frequent buses, cheaper prices, and a 'more catchy/memorable' named service, Joe's could certainly rival West Midlands Travel. read more
