I was told by Midas I needed at catalytic converter for $2300. I took it too Joel Muffler for a second opinion. They looked at my car without a crazy diagnostic fee and told me i didn't need a converter it was just sensors. They weren't doing mechanical repairs at that time so I took it to another shop and they verified and replaced my sensors for less than $500. They saved me a ton of money. I had a leak in my exhaust pipe that was repaired a while ago. I needed to get it fixed or replaced. I looked on yelp and Joel's place came up as a suggestion. I saw all of the positive posts so I decided to check them out. When I got there I told one of the guys my issue. They got me in next and told me the price which I thought was fair. So I agreed and they fixed it on the spot. I guess they only take cash so I did have to walk to the corner store but today was a beautiful day. My friends car was so noisy there was a hole in the exhaust or muffler. I referred him to this shop because they worked on my truck years ago and they are so fast and easy and professional and get the job done for way cheaper off a price than a dealer or other local mechanic. 5 stars due to the fact of how inexpensive this shop was! I went to quite a few other shops and got quotes for the same muffler replacement and was told from $800 to $1000 bucks! There was no way I wanted to pay that much to fix my car, and I wasn't about to get scammed. Luckily my brother referred me to this place and after checking out both google reviews and yelp, I decided to give them a chance. I saw on the one yelp review it's best to go there very early, since it gets crowded and they give you numbers based on your arrival. So I headed there at 7am- not knowing they actually didn't open until 9- not 8- so me and my brother in law just sat and waited for it to open. It's in a neighborhood that I am unfamiliar with, so I felt more comfortable having a guy with me- since both the neighborhood and cars is an unfamiliar area for me! We arrived at 7 and about 715- 2 trucks pull up- it was the owners/workers. The guy told me to park in a different spot and told me I was first in line to get fixed! Which I was happy about! So after waiting till about 855am- the guy pulled my car in- and we were able to wait inside and watch while he replaced the part. He had the car on a lift for about 6 minutes- and was finished right away! He said the price and my jaw dropped because it was WAY!!!! LESS!! Then the quotes I received. It was like an 80% savings!! We waited outside for them to open longer then it took to actually have it fixed- just to secure a spot in line- because it sure did get crowded- there was about 10 cars already behind mine by 9am. I wish I got the employees name but he was friendly and quick and I am very satisfied with taking the drive down here to save money!! I will be a returning customer if I ever have any issues with my muffler again. My once loud, rumbling muffler, now has no sound and the car appears to be running more smooth then before. 5 stars across the board! Check them out and save some money! read more

I decided to check this place out based on a recommendation of YELP. The place works on a first come first served basis. Strangely enough they seem to keep order easily. So unlike most, I went for modifications not repair. Initially, questioned myself but after seeing them fix car after car I knew I was at the right place. When I seen them be honest with a customer and not oversell him I felt even better. This place aint hurting for business by any chance so they have an abundance of integrity from my visit. Also talked to someone and they appear to honor any work they do and fix it with no question! I wanted a muffler delete from the cats back. Can't recommend this place enough. My car's exhaust system was rusted through, and the dealer wanted $7000 to replace everything. Took it here instead, got there at 7:00 am (opening time was 8:00) and was already fourth in line. They took my car in at 8:45 and were done with everything by 9:15. Went to other shop in downtown Philly for a quote, they charged me 650$ and 6 hrs labor work for a simple job. There is no way I would pay it that much. So I tried Joel Muffler Zone. After hearing what I need to do with my exhaust, and he explained what he gonna do, and how it's gonna come out. They got it done in just more than an hour and charged me 300$ for total. I was recommended to this place while searching for muffler parts. The auto parts salesman wouldn't even tell me the price of the item needed, he just kept recommending I go to Joel's. My normal mechanic quoted me a price of $300, for a new muffler and tailpipe and told me it would be a deal if I purchased my own hardware first. Frustrated with finding the best deal, online and in stores I decided to gives Joel's a try. Best decision ever! I arrived around 8:30 am, one of the workers saw me pull up and immediately added me to the waiting list before I got out the car. With 4 cars ahead of me, I was out before 10:30 am (they open at 9 am), having only paid $160 for everything! While waiting, I realized I had been there years prior for a new catalytic converter. Went here to have my Sc tundra beat old Trd muffler cut off and a Borla Muffler put on, was there about 2hrs & it's worth it. The place operates to what u would expect from a fast food place, u pull up and get in line, let the guy know what u need and he'll let u know where u stand in line, I was #11 and waited about 1.5hr till my truck was on the lift. They have all the right stuff to expand / bend pipe and you can stand there and watch ur vehicle getting worked on. I payed $125 for a muffler change but it was slightly more complicated then ur adverage swap, dual in-dual out with 3 difference sizes pipes involved. I'm saying from knowing exhaust that it wasn't easy, they just said $125 ok? Which I paid with a smile read more

They have a problem with honesty when things go wrong. I brought in my Black Acura TSX for muffler work. They replaced my Y pipe and the down pipe that connects to the header. The muffler began blowing again (around where the muffler connects to the header) soon after the job was completed so I called the shop and was asked to come in to see what the problem was. I went in the next day, he put the car on the lift and after barely inspecting it he told me the problem was my engine mounts. I came with a new gasket and asked if he could put it on for me, he said there was no need to ause he put in a new one when he did the repair so I left thinking it was my mounts. I work at a car dealer and asked one of the technicians to inspect the muffler and the engine mounts, long story short, my mounts checked out fine, however one of the bolts that secures the muffler to the header was broken and stripped and thats what was causing the muffler to blow. So the guy at Joel broke the bolt and reinstalled everything like it was fine and told me nothing, and after I came back he told me it was my mounts (knowing what he did he didn't want to take it down to expose what he did). The technician at the dealership fixed it (he removed the broken piece, rethreaded it, put in a new spring bolt and installed the gasket I asked Joel to put in and he didn't. Everything is fine now. I just wish they were honest enough to say something went wrong in the first instance. Had I not asked the technician at the dealership to check things over for me I woud have replaced my mounts and stil have the issue. read more
