I have called on this company twice. Each time they are on time and have removed the stain I thought would never come out! I recommend.

    SERVPRO of Galveston Island/Lake Jackson

    SERVPRO of Galveston Island/Lake Jackson

    (4 reviews)

I hired Servpro of Galveston Island/ Lake Jackson to perform a mold remediation service after mold…read morewas discovered in my condo. Prior to the remediation ServePro requested a mold remediation protocol. I sent over the mold test results not realizing that the protocol was not attached to the test results because the email subject was "protocol". Servpro proceeded to provide an estimate for the work to be done despite not receiving a protocol. They did not ask again for the protocol before starting the work. We now know that TDLR regulations require a protocol to be provided 1 day before remediation work starts (which was not done). I paid roughly half of the cost upfront. Servpro then performed work on the condo. After the work was performed Servpro issued an invoice for the remaining half of the work and an invoice for a mold test. The mold test that they invoiced for was from a mold testing company (Green Ready Inc.) owned by the same owners as the Servpro. I was not even aware that this test would be an additional $710 charged to me. I now know that the post-remediation clearance test must be done by an unaffiliated mold testing company. After the Servpro work, I had the original independent mold tester perform an additional mold test. That test came back reading unsafe mold levels that did not pass clearance. I requested the test results from Green Ready Inc. and Servpro refused to provide those results until the invoice was paid. At that point multiple email exchanges occurred where I requested information about the remediation job and the licenses of the workers. Servpro claimed that they did not need a license since the area was under 25 contiguous sf. The mold remediation protocol that was available estimated "more than 25 square feet of mold will need to be removed therefore state notification is required." The state was not notified and according to TDLR rules, a licensed mold remediation company cannot claim the "less than 25 sf" exemption. At that point I hired a different mold remediation company to complete the remediation job since Servpro and the owner, Kristina Norlander, were acting in a suspicious and unprofessional manner. I continued to ask for information and Servpro continued to deflect the questions. Eventually Servpro began demanding payment in full and threatening legal action (lien on home). Servpro quietly stopped requesting payment for the Green Ready mold test but did continue requesting payment for the remediation work. The remediation company that eventually completed the work stated that there did not appear to be much actual remediation work done previously by Servpro. I believe Servpro operated in violation of regulations, which is why they would not provide the requested information. I tried to discuss the situation and understand my rights as a customer, but Servpro did not answer any questions and continued to demand payment and threaten legal action. I made the payment to avoid entering legal proceedings and avoid any potential negative credit marks. My concerns are the following: * Servpro may have operated with unregistered mold workers. Servpro would not provide license or registration information for workers or the crew chief * Servpro claimed a license exemption for under 25 contiguous SF, which cannot be claimed by a licensed MRC * Servpro tried to use an affiliated mold testing company to clear the job and tried to invoice me without stating up front that the test would occur * Servpro did not follow any mold remediation protocol during the work they did. They did not furnish a protocol before the job was started. They asked for the protocol and I sent the mold test results by mistake. However, Servpro never followed up to ask for the protocol again. * Kristina at Servpro was very aggressive when we asked for information. She accused me of withholding information and "trying to entrap her company" Please do your own research and understand the regulated mold remediation process before deciding to hire any mold remediation company. I hope nobody has to experience what I went through with Servpro Galveston. I welcome a response from Servpro Galveston disputing these statements. I requested answers via email multiple times and was never provided any information. It is unfortunate that this situation could not be resolved in private.

Crew members came into my home and sat on my granite countertops, feet kicking on my beautiful ivory cabinets AND urinated all over my master and guest bathroom toilet seats and floors. Not to mention, the stuffing of toilet paper in both toilets, toilet paper on my granite bathroom countertops and the destruction of my beautiful hardwood floors that weren't damaged. I came into my house to footprints, paint, dirt, etc from these men's shoes all over my hardwood, not cleaned, and they tripped up a breaker and left my locked out of my home! I had no knowledge a breaker had been tripped, gave them access to my home via garage and they MANUALLY closed my AUTOMATIC garage!!! I called in several times to the local office that'd been handling my home and spoke with Michelle who gave attitude each time i called and brushed my concerns and attempts to speak with someone higher to the side. I then called again this evening and she finally gave me over to someone who said he was the general manager Shawn Watson and he had nothing more than a "well i told them to go and clean" and no remorse whatsoever. I highly wouldn't recommend having this company in your home. I am distraught!

Upon return call he said he interviewed his people and they did not know anything about it. They tire a door off of my $1500 armoire and denied it. The supervisor came out and I gave him a walk through of my house a few weeks prior to the moving day. I had a lot of out door plants and such. He suggested a second truck if I wanted to be sure everything got moved because it would be more expensive to come a second time. He quoted me $1300 and said that would assure everything got moved at once. When I called him back to book, I secured two trucks. A few days prior, I called because I was concerned about the 90% chance of rain. He told me it was not a problem and the move all the time in the rain. On moving day, no one showed at 8am like I was told the day before. I finally called at 8:30 and the same supervisor told me a couple of guys ran late and they would be coming soon. I was not happy being it was not raining yet and we were missing out on the window of opportunity to move stuff while dry. At 9am I called again and he told me they were leaving and headed my way. When they arrived at 9:30 the moving began. When they got to a couple of glass cabinets I asked if they were going to wrap them in anything. They said they would but then I noticed the work stopped and I was told they had no wrap and were sending someone to get it. After a good while someone brought wrap and my cabinets were wrapped and moved. The rain started to come down hard but the moving continued. I had told the supervisor prior that I needed my things in the attic moved as well and he assured me they would get them but in the stress of the rain mess, we left without it. I realized when we left so I called the superintendent and he said they would bring it tomorrow so I said okay. When we got to the new house it was pouring rain. They emptied one truck and started the second but then the supervisor asked me if they could bring the remainder of the second truck the next day because it wasn't letting up and the guys were soaked. I said it was fine if my things were secure overnight and they said yes so I agreed. He returned shortly and said they needed the truck so they would need to finish so I said that's fine. He leaves agin but then returns to say the guys don't want to finish and they'll keep my stuff on the truck and finish in the morning. The next morning I get a call to meet at my old house at 11am so I arrive but they don't show until 1p. They start tossing boxes down out of the attic and I heard glass so l asked they not throw boxes (I later found they broke a Christmas figurine in a box) We returned to the new house and they unloaded the remaining boxes. The supervisor tells me the total was $1900. I asked how the total would rise $600 and he said because they had to stop because of the bad weather and come a second day. I was floored! I told him I called to ask about the pending bad weather but he assured me it would get done regardless. It was not my fault and at no time was I told that there would be a higher charge to come the next day. I never would have agreed to it. He yelled at me that it was not his fault they stopped due to weather and he wasn't going to come out a second time for free so I once again told him I was not going to be gouged (and his crew was an hour and a half late missing no rain time) while he NEVER mentioned additional charges. I paid him $1300 and they tried to have me sign the $1900 invoice. I refused to sign until they changed the amount. Beware of this Jesse guy. He's a crook imo
