Would love to try this place with my son. I almost had his first birthday here. Have heard wonderful things about this place.

Astoria

Clean. Roomy space to workout in. Great customer service. Nice people and again great service.read more

Extremely overpriced for what you actually get. This honestly feels like a $20-a-month gym charging…read more$60+ simply because there aren't many other gym options in the immediate area. The gym is in a basement, the equipment and amenities are very limited, there's no sauna or anything that would justify the price, and in my opinion even Planet Fitness offers a better overall experience for a fraction of the cost. It was also frequently crowded and very male-dominated during the times I went. I often had to wait for equipment to become available. On top of the already expensive membership, I constantly felt pushed toward personal training. The training sessions were extremely expensive -- over $100 per session -- and I personally spent around $8,000 on fitness/training sessions at this gym. What disappointed me the most was how my cancellation was handled. Even after canceling my membership, I was charged again. Instead of simply returning the money to my original payment method, I ended up with a one-month gym credit. I have since permanently moved out of the Astoria area, so I have absolutely no use for this credit. I even tried asking whether they could help me find someone interested in buying/transferring the one month so it wouldn't go completely to waste, and received no meaningful assistance. I also found my interactions with RJ, the manager, extremely unprofessional and disappointing. In my personal experience, he had no problem contacting me outside normal hours -- sometimes around 9 or 10 at night -- asking for help or advice regarding his own personal matters. I tried to be helpful whenever I could. Yet when I reached out to him as a longtime paying customer about an actual issue involving the gym and a credit I can no longer use because I permanently moved away, his response was simply, "No I'm busy." After spending approximately $8,000 on training sessions at this gym, I found that response incredibly rude and dismissive. That interaction really summed up my experience. When they were selling memberships and expensive training sessions, there was plenty of attention. But when I needed help after cancellation and after being charged again, suddenly there was very little interest in helping me. For $60+ a month, I simply don't think the facility, equipment, amenities, cancellation experience, or customer service justify the price. After spending thousands of dollars here, I expected much better treatment. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering joining carefully read every billing and cancellation term before signing anything and understand exactly what will happen if you decide to cancel.
