Apart from the slightly dodgy name (it's like "cocktails and dreams" or something like that, for those of you who remember that), they provide a pretty good service. Apart from dry cleaning, they also have a clothes ironing service, and they do bags of ordinary washing as well. So, if you're a bit useless at those sorts of things, especially the ironing, and have a job interview coming up, get your suit and shirt in here - hanging a washed shirt up until the wrinkles fall out of it doesn't have quite the same effect as it being properly ironed. The only thing I would say is that they could do with being open late one night during the week. The place is called careers and cleaning, but anyone who has a career would be hard pushed to find the time to drop stuff in here and pick it up. It never opens before 9a.m. and is never open past 6p.m., and even that's only two days per week.

Picked it up later that week and the girl at the counter couldn't find my blanket, luckily I was able to spot it on a shelf in the back. The price was 16 pound which I thought was a bit expensive but when I got home one piece of the cardigan set was MISSING completely, the other sweater had not been washed at all as it still smelled like my deoderant and the blanket had just been sprayed with heavy perfume but not actually washed. After calling up to ask about my missing piece the owner blamed me saying that the reason my item was missing was because I said I dropped off two sweaters not three (counting the identical cardigan set as two pieces).. He was there when I dropped them off and never said anything about the number of items being incorrect at the time. Appauled by not only the lack of dry cleaning service, as half of my items were either lost or not washed, but also the inability for the owner to admit fault and provide much need customer service. We meet them again in Lisbon in August as they are joining us on a cruise departing Lisbon. We've three other cruises lined up this year so we got tee shirts printed for each as our own memento - I know. Sounds daft even bonkers but it's one off for the craic. Mind you we ended up with 20 tee shirts and all from a whim. Speaking of craic we met the owner of this place: Bumper. Now you'll never find him in the kitchen at parties. Genuine top bloke. Seems he literally can print anything onto anything, mugs, flasks, lanyards, posters. It can be simple or complicated, giant to small print. He said they also do picture framing. A one stop shop. What a bloody great find.

I used to find Sanco to be a good spot to get computer-related malarkey. A bigger hard-drive,…read morememory sticks, CDs to back up information... it was always useful for that sort of thing. It's a very small shop but it always had what I needed and the staff are friendly and know what they're talking about. They've built a good reputation locally, which can only come from the type of customer service you get from independent local retailers (see my reviews on Direct Furniture, Gibson's butchers, etc.,). In recent years they've shifted a lot of their focus to tills and cash registers for businesses. You can still get most of the accessories for your computer that I mentioned, but they really seem to have found a niche locally for customising and supplying those touch screen tills that you see in so many pubs and restaurants these days. On the customer service point, I bought a hard drive from here once and a friend was fitting it for me when he told me it wasn't functioning properly. I thought this was unlikely and that he just couldn't do it, but I brought it back to Sanco, they tested it, and it was faulty. They gave me another one, and their apologies, and I was on my way. No hassle.

I work round the corner from them so it's easy to drop anything off and you get a quick call when it's ready, saving you waiting about or ringing up every now and again to check if it is ready yet.
