I felt supported every step of the way, especially when choosing the horse that suited me best. Raven, the horse I connected with, completely stole my heart. The bond felt instant, like we'd known each other for a long time. I initially thought the stable was more for kids, but I was so wrong--this place is perfect for adults too. The owner is absolutely amazing--warm, personal, and genuinely passionate about what they do. I've found not just a new hobby, but a healing space that's truly helping me through my grief. Grass and hay quality are extremely important for your horse(s). Becareful in choosing a place for your horse(s). I have zero worries with him being at this facility. Had a very rough year not able to get out there like I need to, and it's very comforting to know he's well looked after. In saying this, this facility isn't a high maintenance looking facility, but in saying that its natural beauty speaks for itself and meant for the wellbeing of your precious horse(s). It has more of an urban type trail feel as it winds itself along the river, around a disc golf course, children's play area and parking lot. Nothing wrong with any of it, but if you're looking for a traditional hiking trail this one may not be much of a challenge for you. But bring the kids and everyone will find it to be a very enjoyable walk with nice varying views. Looks like they are building elevated wooden walkways to get thru the low lying, flood prone and muddy areas.

The rider's head is three feet away from unprotected overhead fluorescent lights, legs can get caught on stall hardware... riding in barn aisles is strictly against the rules at any reputable facility for these reasons. Plus, you don't actually learn how to ride if all you do is walk/trot up and down a barn aisle. There was also no instruction on horsemanship skills included in the lessons. What's more, Valerie is stunningly rude. I was introduced to her, and when she was told about my national championship hunter/jumper experience, the first words out of her mouth to me were a curt, "I'm sorry." Let's be clear that this place specializes in saddlebred riding, which is not exactly the pinnacle of equestrian sport. Valerie only became interested in me when she found out how I make my living and saw dollar signs. This place is a hazard. This is not the equestrian experience you are looking for.

I visit Lions Club Park for the walking trail which I take to Camp Creek Greenway trail. The trail…read moreat the park alone is pretty easy and paved. I think it's great for walking/running/biking but I'd recommend taking the camp creek greenway trail as well to get a some great views! The park has a playground and some playing fields and covered picnic areas. I find that the trail itself is pretty boring as I normally enjoy more scenery which is why I always take the greenway trail but overall this is a great park in the area. One thing I loved was the "Mow Free Zone" which helps reduce our carbon footprint, promotes sustainable landscapes and encourages native plant growth. Very cool! Maybe I haven't noticed this at other parks but I think that is awesome.

While my friend's kids played on the playground, I ended up dozing off on the cool cement wall. Vines Park in Loganville at one time was a beautiful and well manicured park that sits directly…read morebehind the Vines Mansion which is used for weddings, photo shoots and other events. I remember my first visit to the park many, many years ago. The lovely lake and bridges, pavilions, themed botanical gardens, the statues throughout the park, the paved walking trails and the entertaining Vines Garden miniature railroad which has over 1,000 feet of track and runs through a little train town. Although all those things still exist, the park is no longer well manicured and has lost some of the natural beauty I remember it once held. There is a lot of overgrowth of the bushes and trees and the weeds are taking over. It is still a nice and serene little park to visit with very few visitors, but no longer one that I'd make a trip to enjoy its beauty.
