The bond felt instant, like we'd known each other for a long time. I initially thought the stable was more for kids, but I was so wrong--this place is perfect for adults too. I found out about Hidden Oaks while I was searching for a riding lesson for my daughter. My kids…read morehave taken lessons at The Chastain Park in Buckhead and at The Equestrian Reserve in Alpharetta. I was looking for something closer and this seemed perfect. Until I got in touch with Susie. It started going south from that moment on. It started with no response to calls or voicemails. After sending her a text message I get a curt response about having no availability in summer. After inquiring about the availability for Fall - and another follow up message - I get a spot being told that there will be no trial class and that we need to commit to weekly lessons. Which I did. Here is what was shocking. We drive up to the school and call her from the gates. She instructs me to take the first right. I go in - but miss the first right (because it is not a paved road and it did not seem right to take that right :). "Ms." Susie waits for me at the end of this drive way - with hands on her hips - she SCOLDS me saying " I TOLD YOU TO TAKE THE FIRST RIGHT. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST RIGT". I still can't believe that I got scolded that way by an adult!! I can't imagine how she might be teaching the kids!! I told her that she is an incredibly rude person and drove back home. I am just shocked at the fact that a business can run despite such a low quality. Very disappointing.

They have been operating for decades and I know many families who have used them over the years, including some who grew up owning and training horses themselves. The rider's head is three feet away from unprotected overhead fluorescent lights, legs can get caught on stall hardware... riding in barn aisles is strictly against the rules at any reputable facility for these reasons. Plus, you don't actually learn how to ride if all you do is walk/trot up and down a barn aisle. There was also no instruction on horsemanship skills included in the lessons. What's more, Valerie is stunningly rude. I was introduced to her, and when she was told about my national championship hunter/jumper experience, the first words out of her mouth to me were a curt, "I'm sorry." Let's be clear that this place specializes in saddlebred riding, which is not exactly the pinnacle of equestrian sport. Valerie only became interested in me when she found out how I make my living and saw dollar signs. This place is a hazard. This is not the equestrian experience you are looking for.

Bucky is bougie, aka Bougie Mammoth Bucky, a high maintenance 3 year old colt gelding, but since he's been there, he's been on nothing but their grass which it's good grass. Grass and hay quality are extremely important for your horse(s). Becareful in choosing a place for your horse(s). I have zero worries with him being at this facility. Had a very rough year not able to get out there like I need to, and it's very comforting to know he's well looked after.
