The employee or owner or whoever she was, was no where to be seen. As we made our way down the store, we finally saw the lady but however, she said not one word to us. Not a greeting or assistance. So we finally asked a question about lace and she said "this is not that kind of store. It's a quilting store." Um yeah, we were highly aware and obvious it's a "quilting store," we just asked a question. The vibe from the employee was so off. So we definitely will another fabric store. I don't want to go to a store just to be ignored and stared at.

You must stop and shop!!!!! Well worth the drive!!!!…read more I wish this quilt store was near my home. Tons of great fabric....some I seen before but lots that was new to me. Lots and lots of samples....classes......a large section of notions, books, magazines, and patterns. There specialty is more on the modern side, which I loved cause sometimes you fell like your walking in the same old quilt stores. But not this shop it had some really unique quilts. The staff was great helpful and friendly. I will stop in Preston again just for this shop.

I prefer more modern and trendy patterns and like most quilt shops this one caters to an older demographic with more traditional taste. I did find some very cute fabric but it took some searching. The shop is a bit cluttered and I feel the location at Rainbow Gardens is bizarre! The price for a fat quarter is $3 so I'd say that is comparable to most quilt shops that carry quality fabric. For the fabric selection I'd give this shop a "3." The service is absolutely a "5." The owner was very attentive and helpful. She was giving a lot of help to other patrons but kept coming back to me. I brought my children to the shop with me and the owner gave them candy and she has a little table set up for kids. This was really a bonus because I have no choice but to take my children everywhere with me and I appreciate businesses who understand this and accommodate me. Overall, I would say that there isn't a large selection of fabric that suits my particular taste but they do have a lot of fabric to choose from. I will go back because they do have some good prints and the service is really great.

I've been unknowingly limiting myself and only going to Michael's just because it's the closest and their canvases we're on sale. But so were Hobby Lobby's.....and their paint, and their brushes, and the biggest "Ugh moment", their gesso (canvas primer) was not on sale but $5 cheaper for the SAME size at Michael's. I wanted to smack myself. I've really been overspending by not thinking of going to Hobby Lobby first. I got my plethora of paint supplies and browsed around a bit. What I really liked at Hobby Lobby, that I don't think I've noticed anywhere else, is they had decor and furniture, cute little things and what have you grouped together. So if you're like me and need a little assistance in ideas for decorating, similar things are together, even in color. So if you know you want something with a little rust, there's a section. If you want a little accent piece with some salmon or turquoise, there was a section for each. Nautical theme? Over here. Cows or roosters? Over there. For those who drive endlessly to every TJ Maxx or Ross or DI to find that one accent piece you're looking for, they might just have it or something similar to it in their themed sections. I really like this place. It gets my creative juices flowing.
