Very impressive. We were swimming in their outside pool this weekend with 20+ lanes. You could see all perfectly from the stands and a nice cool breeze blows over the trees while you watch. Plenty of room to spread out. The meet ran a little longer than anticipated, so I would recommend the meet organizer allows more time in their schedule or reduce the number of 10 minute breaks between events. Otherwise, everything else was great. I look forward to my kids swimming there again. Definitely worth the drive to San Antonio for a swim meet.

They never showed us how to properly use our Pentair system (that they installed) after several requests. Weekly cleaning was good but the owner left the tech to do his "dirty work" and tell us our repairs were delayed week after week, for months, more than once. The excuse was a broken truck. For months. When they returned our vac after we discontinued our service, they had had it for a month. We had requested repairs for two months prior to them picking it up. Our pool was without a vacuum in the height of pollen season and looks awful. The (admittedly older) vacuum was not repaired AND had a newly broken wheel. The new service we hired tested the water and said our chlorine was extremely high and the acid was almost to the point we'd have to drain the pool and refill. On top of this, I would very professionally contact owner and he would respond to my husband. We really tried with these guys, gave them 10 mos. They were overpriced and did not deliver on the most basic of requests. Hopefully they read this and do better for their customers in the future.

When we finally fired him it was because we didn't see him for three weeks straight and no communication at all of why. Don't even waste your time by looking into this place. It is one of several public swimming pools run by San Antonio Parks and Rec. All outdoor public swimming pools run by the city are free to all, open six days a week throughout the summer swimming season, and follow very similar rules and protocol. This review will focus on Dellview Swimming Pool and what sets it apart from other city swimming pools. As with most city pools, you are required to sign in at the front desk with name, age group, and gender. These roles help the parks department obtain funding to continue operation of the pools, so it is very important to sign in. Dellview Pool is my favorite out of all the free city pools. We drive across town from the East Side to go there at least once a week. It's layout of just about the same as the one at South Side Lions Park including the diving board. The staff and lifeguards are friendly (even if the lifeguards exhibit typical teenage behavior a lot of the time) and experienced. My daughter was trapped between the diving board and the platform last summer after slipping, and the whole team rushed to help her, and we were able to rescue without injury. The pool has a modern pump system, changing rooms and a covered patio to wait out the hourly pH level breaks. This location also has a toddler splash pool which is nice if you have little ones. The water is always refreshing. It does get a little crowded here on weekends and holidays, especially if the diving board is open. The diving board is opened every half hour for a half hour. They split the time pretty evenly since it is so popular. The pool runs from 3ft to 11ft. Maybe it's just me, but this pool always seems a lot brighter and I need to wear sunglasses when I'm there. It's a nice place.

Some things to know if you're going for the first time: no goggles that cover your nose, no water guns, no big inflatables. Children can wear goggles that don't cover their nose and use life jackets/puddle jumpers if needed. At the top of the hour there is a mandatory pool break for 15 minutes. Great experience, but know they do stick to the rules so there is no trouble.

The gym itself is in good condition, clean with some great weight machines and lots of space. There is even a woman's only smaller weight area by the stairs. Overall, because of its spaciness, it usually feels less crowded than some of the smaller Golds. Staff is friendly and there are a few good classes. However, it all pales in comparison to the obnoxiously loud music playing on overhead speakers. Since many of the people working out have their own devices playing their own sounds, I am not sure what the intent of the music is.
