I was driving at the posted speed limit and was not driving excessively fast or slow when a large Mack dump truck pulling a long trailer with a CAT machine suddenly pulled out directly in front of me. Because of the size and weight of this vehicle and trailer, it cannot safely accelerate or maneuver like a regular car or truck. I had to brake hard to avoid hitting it. If I had not reacted in time, this could have resulted in a very serious accident.!!!!!! I understand that accidents can happen, but this was extremely dangerous and completely avoidable. I hope the company takes this seriously and reminds their drivers that they are operating very large, heavy equipment that can cause catastrophic damage if driven carelessly.
