they build a pretty home but cut corners anywhere they can. the yard on spec homes will be awful…read more they tell their landscapers not to amend soil. fill dirt around house is literally rocks covered by sheet then maybe 3 inches of dirt to get a plant in to sell. utterly dissapointing to spend 700k on a home that the yard will require a complete overhaul to ever grow anything. greed is lame. make what is unseen match what is seen. they also sold my house with 1 shutter. i literally kept expecting the other to at least make a pair: nope. and my request to finish the house (what house in the world only has 1 single shutter?) was met with a no. so cheap. cost them nothing to make another shutter. just enough to sell the house - bc every person of logic in the world driving by under construction would assume it just wasnt finished. i ended up taking it off: may wrap it to give to jay for christmas. they also installed my outdoor faucet on the back of my house on my second floor deck so i have to run a hose out a screen door down a flight of steps to get to yard. front of house its right next to the front door. called the plumber to get installed on lower by yard in back was told the plan put it on the top deck porch. ridiculous. nearly million dollar homes should be finished better than this.

Jennifer Graham at your Opelika office was most frustrating to deal with. Her method of communicating is via e-mail. I understand, but occasionally circumstances warrant a phone conversation. I was still in Colorado and needed to have two or three phone conversations with her. She was elusive (beyond e-mails) and I felt sorry for the receptionist because she knew my voice and graciously left messages with Jennifer that I had called. I still believe that in today's world, he or she who understands customer service will ultimately dominate. Communicating with your Opelika office beyond e-mails was most frustrating and substandard (in my opinion). In the last 18 months, I've sold a farm in Nebraska, sold a home in Colorado, bought your Stone Martin home in Auburn, dealt with appraisers, county assessors, attorneys, realtors, title companies, you name it! Jennifer was the least most accessible individual I dealt with, unless it was via e-mail. I think Stone Martin is a good builder and am quite pleased with my new home. I've got the usual warranty issues (just a few, nothing major), as to be expected. Anthony, Robert and Robin have helped me with these and must be acknowledged! Every new home they build there is deceit. They use triple thin flat paint with no primer over…read moreevery inside wall. You think it looks nice? That's what they want you to think. Every accidental scuff, sticker, even painters tape takes the sheetrock off leaving cardboard. I've never had this anywhere. So if you decide to go with them for your home build know that this is thousands of dollars of deceit. They know it's unfixable. Think twice. What else are they deceiving us on?
