We should have gone with Home Depot, but wanted to support local small business and used…read moreLisa/Kitchen Krafter for gut renovation of a small condo kitchen, which turned out to be a BIG Mistake. Could have purchased the same cabinets and countertop at a Big Box store, but might have ended up with a 21 inch sink as requested, and not a 21 inch sink base, which resulted in an 18 inch sink - the difference was never explained. But the big problem was the contractor Lisa highly recommended as a "craftsman" - George Evans. He continuously made misrepresentations about timing (gross delays, even by contractor's standards). A number of important elements needed to be redone (e.g., wrong type/color of paint, counter top design and grout), because he did not follow specific written and verbal instructions, and could not focus on time management, details, and task completion. He persistently gave excuses and blamed others (subcontractors) for delays and errors; after a point, he lost credibility. We ended up accepting his mistakes as design compromises, just to get the job done and get George out of the house. Bottom Line: I CANNOT recommend Kitchen Krafter.

Last winter a pipe burst in our 2nd floor bathroom and the resulting flood ruined our kitchen on…read morethe floor below. After contacting our insurance company we began a search for new kitchen cabinets. We visited the large box stores (Lowes and Home Depot) but were unhappy with both the pricing (even after "discounts") and the level of expertise of the employees assigned to the kitchen department. A friend told us of Kitchen Krafter and my wife and I decided to try them. We were helped by Lisa and Carla, two of the most knowledgeable kitchen cabinet people I have ever met! After innumerable phone calls and questions, we purchased our kitchen cabinets and crown molding from them, at a less expensive price then the box stores (same products!). When the cabinets arrived my wife didn't like the grain on one of the cabinet doors (subjective opinion), so Lisa had it quickly exchanged without any problem. Such personnal service and product expertise could not be matched by any other cabinet supplier that we met with. Go with these gals - they are great!

Stay well clear and do not fall for Mister M's (Marcos Rezende) sales pitch. He's a great salesman…read moreand a world-class con-artist! He promised that the bathroom would take 4-6 weeks from start to finish. We are now 12 weeks into the project and the master bathroom is unfinished and unusable (still needs electrical work, carpentry and painting). During the initial process, Marcos will draft up a quick sketch of your bathroom using pen and paper and provide a highly inflated estimate, because he will convince you that the job will run smoothly and he will be "on-site" to keep the project moving along. Nothing could be further from the truth. Once he receives your 50% deposit you won't see him again. Also, if you are foolish enough to move forward with Mister M, or have already left a deposit, make sure that you re-measure the bathroom. In our situation Mister M overestimated the amount of tile needed by 50% (usually you overestimate the tile needed by 10%). He charged us for the tile, and stole the remaining tile, presumably to take back to the warehouse or use on the next job. As far as scheduling goes, you will be working on his schedule and not yours. One Saturday afternoon at 5pm a "carpenter" arrived unannounced to install shelves and a door. Desperate to make any progress, we changed our weekend plans and allowed him to start work. At 9.30 PM Mr. Marcos called to say that the carpenter was unable to install the shelves or the door and he would need to find another contractor. We had bought a beautiful solid slab door from Wayfair, but apparently this was too difficult to hang as his carpenter only installs doors that are already framed. A "carpenter" who can't hang a door? The door was returned and I had to go to Lowe's to find another door (framed). That was 4 weeks ago - the door is still in the garage. On that subject, it is clear that Mr. Marcos is not using licensed workers. Make sure you check the license on every worker in your house. On a final note, although I could really easily write pages, the hallway walls and bedroom walls were damaged during the demolition of the original bathroom. They quickly spackled the damage that they caused, but have not returned to paint the wall as they promised they would. I don't usually write reviews, and in fact this the first negative review that I have ever posted. If this only prevents one customer from being conned by Mr. Marcos then the time and effort will be worthwhile.
