As a man who avoids medical treatment and relies on brute masculinity to get by, the threshold for visiting an urgent care for a wound is high. After losing approximately 99% of my total blood capacity (give or take), it was determined that stitches were unavoidable. My wife wouldn't let me use the staple gun to perform the procedure myself, so off to urgent care we went. Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by how remarkably clean and modern the office looked. After just a couple of minutes for registration and another couple of minutes in the waiting room, I was called back by a very pleasant medical assistant - I believe her name was Nicole (I'm not 100% sure because I couldn't read her badge because I had something in my eyes, definitely not tears) who was patient and kind even though I wasn't quite myself that day and may have been a bit short with her, possibly due to the nearly complete loss of blood. She efficiently cleansed the wound and prepped everything for the PA, Rachel, who seemed equally pleasant. Rachel explained what her approach was going to be and assured me that this, in fact, a major major injury. Though I told her that the pain medication wasn't necessary, she numbed the thumb and put in 6 stitches. She then cleaned everything up and gave pretty clear instructions for the aftercare. I think that it is important to note that my wife complimented Rachel's suturing technique and thought she did a great job. My experience at the Milford Regional Urgent Care in Medway was surprisingly excellent from start to finish...even though I was only there for a total of 45 minutes. As a man who is slow to seek medical care, I would definitely recommend this urgent care, and Nicole and Rachel specifically, for your next major laceration repair.

The office in Maynard was fast, clean, friendly and efficient. As new patients we were registered and in a room within 5 minutes. The back room is set up similar to an ER with the doctor/ nurses station in the middle and all the patients' rooms in a larger square surrounding it. X-Rays were taken right across the hall. The doctors were able to confer with our orthopedist and pediatrician. The staff was excellent! Friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend going here.

I was seen right away by a very professional nurse & my vitals were taken & she inquired about the reason for my visit. The doctor sent me in for an X-ray prior to seeing me. Dr McDonald then explained he didn't see any major injury but after questioning me, was concerned about a possible blood clot. He then referred me to the ER to rule out this possibility of a blood clot & further suggested I see an orthopedist for the knee pain From beginning to end the care I received was thorough & professional. Well that all changed today when my father convinced me to go for a three week bout of nearly every illness one can get. I was able to book an appointment for the same hour, and the front desk was super flexible when I was running late. Once I arrived, I was taken in within 2 mins and brought to a clean, private space. Aidan was amazing and truly took the time listen, ask follow-up questions, and let me know what to expect for the remainder of the visit. He is a gem and his personality helped make me feel comfortable and taken care of. Dr. Gold took the time to go through my history, every single noted symptom as well as some I hadn't even mentioned. He took his time with the physical exam, even double checking and making sure not to miss anything. They ran a rapid strep, flu, and Covid test as well as a chest x-ray on-site, with the results given within 10 minutes. My only regret is waiting as long as I did to be seen because, unfortunately, there was nothing they could treat me for. I will not hesitate to return in the future.

My mother is disabled and uses a wheelchair so she requires special transportation. Today the service we use was running an hour late and because I go on the bus with her to get her on and off the bus, I was stuck there unable to get to my daughters school to pick her up on time unless something extraordinary happened. I was running requests on uber and lyft and no one was interested in my short ride home to get my car. This is the type of compassion you rarely see in the medical industry. THANK YOU EWA!
