I just had the strangest experience with this business yesterday, and I feel the need to write about it. I was leaving a Chinese food restaurant yesterday (I do food deliveries part time) at around ~7pm, when a man came out of the JJs Prime Steaks van and told me he "had some extra steaks. Do you eat steak? Do you want any?" It was dark outside, and caught off guard, busy putting the delivery bags into my car, I politely told him "no." Me, not knowing what his business was even, told him he should perhaps give the steaks to a homeless person (I figured he was talking about cheesesteaks!) He proceeds to then offer me *cheesecake*. He explains the different kinds of cheesecakes he has, and me, figuring he's still talking about extra product he's trying to give away, is a little more interested. Fast forward ten seconds, he's handing me a raspberry cheesecake and he says, "20 dollars." I tell him I'm not interested, and he scoffs at me! And then he passively aggressively says, "Oh, and what sort of food do you eat? Oh, I see, Chinese food." I respond, while getting into my car and driving away from this rude "businessman," that this isn't my food and I'm a delivery driver! I can't believe the level of unprofessionalism of this company! And reading other reviews, it sounds like this isn't a one-off episode! It doesn't matter how good your product is if you are this unprofessional to potential clients! read more

Mediocre at best - I've lived in My Home for a year now, and when this man came to my home, I had no idea that he had already spoke to my husband in a previous interaction & was turned down. A very nice clean cut fella knocks on my door trying to sell me meat... I was waiting for a weed delivery so I answered the door more excited than I intended. I entertain the idea long enough for him to show me his product and I even bought the entire $300 whatever package with the pork and the steak etc. I have been eating steak for nearly 33 years and I can promise you that I cooked steak that had been thawed and refrozen several times. I have shared some photos of the additional pork product that I just open today that I thawed in my fridge for a 2 days. I love that I have found a local company that has their own farm. The quality is evident in the taste. I ordered the cheesecake, bacon, some sausage, some steak and some spicy chicken patties. The steak has minimal fat but enough to retain the flavor and tastes very beefy and slightly salty. Perfection. The cheesecake was super creamy and reminded me of a strawberry shortcake ice cream, but not as sweet. The sausage is nice and peppery and has a thin casing that snaps when you bite. Chicken sandwiches are quite spicy and very clean and crispy. The bacon fried up nicely with not a lot of grease and the right amount of salt. I'm very happy with my purchase and will definitely be a returning customer, especially considering they bring it right to your front door! read more

A JJ's van came through our neighborhood the other day while I was taking my dog out and the salesman stopped me and tried to sell me steaks for about $350, plus a "free" cheesecake. He was kind and told me he has delivered steaks to some of my neighbors and appeared to know details about them that backed up this statement. I had never heard of nor tried their products before. I told him I would buy half of what he was offering, thinking it would cost me a little over $150. Even after telling him I wasn't a big fan of cheesecake, he told me still he would throw it in for "free." By the time he took my card and called in to run my card, he told the person on the other end to run it for $259. I was caught off guard by the amount but took the meat and cheesecake inside then did some research. The prices online did not seem to match up with what I got and paid for (6 steaks and 4 pounds of hamburger patties). I felt horrible about spending so much money on such little food and felt scammed. I then called the main line to ask for an itemized receipt. I explained the prices online appeared cheaper than what I paid. The owner was the one who answered the phone; he was extremely polite and assured me he would look into this right away and get back to me. The next day, he called me and was again very polite and honest with me. He explained his sales guys make commission, but that I should have received 2 additional steaks in one of the boxes I purchased. He told me he would deliver me these 2 steaks, plus a box of strip steaks at no extra charge. He showed up the next day and delivered it as promised. He texted me to let me know when he was coming and sent a photo of the delivery at my door. So far, we've tried the sirloin steaks, hamburgers, and cheesecake. The cheesecake was great! The sirloin was pretty tender and tasty. The hamburgers were perfectly sized and were also very tasty. Although my experience started off a little poorly, the owner's customer service and the quality of the product changed my initial impression of them. read more

If your neighbor orders steaks, and the van is there, don't get pulled in. I ended up buying a few hundred dollars of steaks that were on the truck after the last stop, and I was really disappointed. I buy a 1/4 cow every year, and these steaks do not compare at all. I tried grilling, pan searing, and cooking the steaks sous vide. I could not get a fillet or Delmonico, tender to save my life. Surprised my wife doing yard work and fast-talked her into buying 100 dollars in steaks and she felt really bad afterward. She doesn't do the cooking or food shopping and was caught off guard. I would never buy frozen steak. Nervous to even cook it from all the negative reviews. Really not happy that this happened and I don't like solicitors at our door. We had one of the sale representatives, Brent, come into our place of business and when we politely told him we weren't interested in the products (after being extremely pushy with the clients and employees) he stormed out of the office like a child with a temper tantrum. So, normally don't write reviews but like big red flag with this place, probably scamming people out of their money. I placed an order online for 4 steaks, decided to cancel since I had found a different place to get it from fresh as I've seen from other reviews that it came frozen. I contacted using their website's contact page because they were closed by the time I decided to do so. He gives me a call next day, I explained I wanted to cancel, gave me a sarcastic and frankly rude attitude back but told me he would refund me. No refund. Call again after a few days past, said he would check into it and refund. Again, no refund at this point. I call again and this time, no answer or call back after leaving message. So, now have to dispute with my credit card. Don't buy from here, I feel like it was the owner and he has issues bro. read more

The absolute worst strip steak I've had in my 66 years of life! I could hardly "saw" through the darn thing with a sharp steak knife. I threw it in the garbage after three bites. Brent came in to my place of business and tried to sell his product. He was pretty nice at first, but started interrupting customer interactions in an attempt to sell his product. The sales pitch was repeated to 3-4 customers. He came in with some of his products, and when we said we weren't interested, he FREAKED OUT and nearly broke the door leaving. Came to my door and I bought frozen sirloin steaks. They tried to sell 6 boxes of steaks and said it was the only way they could sell it but then they broke down and sold one box separately after I said no. Over paid for what we got. I typically don't do frozen meat. We have great places to get fresh meat daily near our home. Nino's. Haven't eaten them yet but will be surprised if they taste good. Ordering from JJ's was a very unique experience... I ordered online late on a Friday afternoon. A few minutes later, I got a phone call asking if it would be convenient for me to receive my order in 10 minutes! I knew they were close to me, but expected them after the weekend! I ordered the Tomahawk steaks, and I have to say they were some of the best I have eaten ever! They were not chewy at all and the taste was superb... We had a Shannon come our to our place of business. I explained I was leary about such a big purchase prior to trying their products. She stated not to worry because if we were not happy at any time we could get a full refund. The first morning we tried the sausage my husband and I did not like it. It had too much bourbon in them. The next day we decided to try the filet - well what we thought were filet mignon. They were super tough. After I called the manager at that point I learned - what I thought were filet mignon was really sirloin. False advertising! I clearly stated to Shannon the only cut of steak I like was the filet mignon or ribeye. She had the opportunity to tell me they were not filet that they were actually sirloin. The box is mark as filet and she also told us they were filet mignon. I call the manager to state my concern and right away he spoke over me and got very defensive. I told him I wasn't going to argue and wanted to know about the refund. He said he could bring me the real filet mignon. After I declined and inquired about the refund he stated it was all he could do was replace them. I told him ok that I would dispute it with my credit card and hung up. Next thing I know I get a text from him stating that if I dispute the charge he will rebuttal the dispute and state they never received the product back and I would never get my refund. I never said or wanted to keep the product. At this point after being threatened I did not trust this man. He felt the need to bully me instead providing customer service. I would NEVER buy or purchase anything from this company again. Horrible customer and horrible products! read more
