I agree they are awful at returning inquiries, let alone a health crisis. I saw Dr. Houk and she actually is NO help w/my health issues. She doen't really hear me, and leaves all the leg work to me. Forget medication....I get pill prescribed w/no follow up if they are helping or not. Made to find my own referral Drs. and absolutely no help when I really need it. I am a paycheck, nothing more. So I have been transitioning to Valley Hosp. since all my specialists are there. Hope the Senior Center in Valley is as good as I think it is. SO recommend UW Des Moines Clinic. Only if you have to. Not for me anymore. The one bright light is the Lab, they are always cheerful and happy. No more, please if you go there, speak up. You and only you are in charge of your health.
