Fortunately, the Albion Day & Night Chemist was there and open till late. Phew! Although they do not righteously call themselves a discount chemist, they do offer many reputable brands at very low prices. It's not a very big chemist, but it is always full stocked and has all the popular items. Customer service is pretty good. There aren't that many customers at this chemist, so prescription service is quite fast. Also because there is no big queue behind me, the pharmacist and I have time to chat about the medication. This personal customer service is the reason I return. They have the time to genuinely help out and give you the advice. They're so kind and helpful here, I recommend this chemist for anyone in the area.

I dont like ringing up and getting a recorded message with four button options to push. Its all a bit impersonal. Before they became a chain chemist it was much more personal but i guess that happens with corporatisation. Still they do have good selection of products and the pharmacists are very knowledgeable. Average experience. Certainly better than the discount chains but i miss the friendly corner sole operated chemist. It seems the world is heading to chain shops with very few small operators left. Just leaves that personal touch behind. I think that having a real person answer the phone would be a good start

The pharmacists behind the counter have dealt with every situation you can think of many many times and suffice to say you are in great hands. I once injured my ankle hoofing it to a lecture theatre and someone from the Campus Pharmacy came out to help me there and proceeded to treat my leg. That was impressive. They are great, stock a little bit of everything... even sun hats. It can be a little bit of a squeeze in there at times when there are many students trying to get medicines and whatnot, but they are awesome.

Boundary street in West End has a very neighbourhood villlage atmosphere, and JP Davies has been around since 1885 so its customers are loyal and JP Davies returns the favour by being reasonably priced, and full of pharmacists and sales assistants who seem to genuinely want to help you. They don't just help you with your purchase or putting your script in, they're also happy to assist you if you have any questions about what medications might be best for your symptoms or if you're after any other advice. They'll even check your blood pressure for you. JP Davies sells a nice range of cosmetics along with their healthcare range and you can get Natio, Revlon, and other brands there at a pretty good price. They often have specials as well. I like to support the few remaining independent chemists and I know that whenever I go into JP Davies I'll be well looked after whether I need over the counter medication, a script filled, or just some sympathy and advice.

I'm not sure how often that happens, but if it's a common occurrence then I will definitely be returning to this place. As soon as I finish the shampoo I'm working on now.
