Don't walk--RUN from this shop if you value your instrument!…read more I took a custom guitar a friend of mine made for me in the mid-90s to Luthier's Workshop in Green Bay, WI for a refret with stainless steel frets. I was charged about $500 for the work, which is a bit higher than industry standard, but the shop was local and claimed it was certified to do warranty work on Taylor Guitars, so I trusted them with my ONLY electric guitar. Not only was the fret job botched (gritty frets throughout, with visible filing chatter on the crowns), but their ham-fisted luthier filed grooves/gouges into the neck binding near EVERY SINGLE FRET. When I contacted the owner via email, he said he was "sorry" I was "disappointed" with the service. He then stated that his luthier had claimed that the gouges were "already there." I provided him with photographic evidence to the contrary. He offered to fix the issues, but at this point I would not trust his shop to restring a $6 plastic Hello Kitty ukulele, let alone do any work of substance on my custom guitar. No, I will have to drop another $120 to have another local luthier repair the damage done to my instrument. RUN AWAY.

Jeff came to our house to tune and repair our piano. I bought it used a year ago and it was out of…read moretune then. After being moved across the country it was even worst. Jeff took the piano apart ad brought the insides back to his shop. He reshaped the hammers. When he returned, he vacuumed the whole inside out before installing the insides. Jeff was knowledgeable and professional. It's obvious he has a passion for pianos. We will definitely have him do all our piano tuning and repairs.
