I usually don't go to grocery stores as a traveler, but I felt like it. Nothing is too overpriced, but it is above average. 3rd world produce, dirty atmosphere and rude employees. Thank goodness for Super 1 / Walmart. You work / own a grocery store in a town no one heard of before so try riding on a smaller horse. Prices are 2-3x that of others. Worth the gas to avoid here read more

A valuable alternative to the big box and small town grocery store. Excellent prices on some items, but not everything is a bargain. Selection is limited compared to evil big box stores. Longtime part of the community, many people rave over this store. Good selection of baked goods, meats, and produce at competitive prices. read more

Disinterested employees and high prices. Two employees weren't wearing masks at 9 am, when most shoppers were over 60. One not wearing a mask was stocking fruit, and one not wearing a mask was within 3 feet of two elderly customers returning bottles. He did have a mask (bandana) around his neck, but didn't respect customers to have it up over his mouth. When I asked if he should be wearing a mask, he gave a rude response and walked away. They are very helpful and kind. They are now carrying fat free shredded cheeses, Hebrew National Beef Franks, Cream of Rice, and are ordering for me the Almond and sunflower butter. They are currently looking into getting the brown rice puffed rice type cereal for us as well. This store has gone the extra mile for us many times over.. While it is nowhere near us, we pass by this grocery store on the way to and from Marquette. I always stop in here every year to get one thing: a pack of cudighi meat, which is the best I've had anywhere. What is cudighi? Well, it's a local Yooper food a lot like Italian sausage, just without the casing. You buy it in a package, much like ground beef. It is seasoned a bit differently from Italian sausage, but close enough to make you think it's a really tasty version of it. You then form it into a patty and grill it like a burger, serving it in a Kaiser roll with pasta sauce, mozzarella cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms. Might good sam'ich! And no place better to get the meat than at this Jubilee Foods that prepares it their way. read more

For starters this store is always dirty, dust and dirt all over, not surprising considering this store has the highest prices of any grocery store in Marquette county. Also to top it off the staff are constantly rude . read more

RUDE, BELIGGERENT STAFF! I've been going here for a year now and I'm ALWAYs having problems with rude cashiers. Someone apparently tells them it's okay to put bread, milk, pies, eggs and other fragile foods in the same plastic bag as heavy objects like canned goods, 2-Liter bottles of soda, beer and other boxed goods. I've personally complained to various store staff, cashiers and even their managers repeatedly yet nothing improves. WORSE, when you kindly ask the cashiers NOT to place your bread, apples, eggs, baked goods, chips etc. into the same bags as heavy objects they cop an attitude, tell you they are expert baggers and that 'you have no idea what you are talking about'. My crushed bread, eggs and baked goods say otherwise. I had a 19 year old female employee (obviously a new hire) lie boldly, loudly and nastily to my face in front of a room of people that she had worked there 3 years, never had a complaint (see above for the truth of that) and that if I didn't like it I could, "do it myself". When I said that I would she literally dropped my items onto the counter (without regard for them), stepped back and started making nasty comments under her breath. Apparently, management just doesn't care one lick because numerous complaints have resulted in even worse employee behavior, not better. It appears that the store may be telling them to get as many items into as few bags as possible to save themselves a few pennies because they constantly try to stuff our bags as full as possible no matter what we have bought. They also have an 'it's you're problem" attitude to customers regarding purchases being damaged in transit due to their deliberately bad packing. This isn't just one or two occurrences, this happens almost every single visit now. My advice to people who don't want smashed bread, crushed pies, broken eggs and a headache from rude, arrogant teen employees who don't have one single work ethic or respect for customers? Go down the street to Super One foods. It may be a few miles further to get your goods but they apparently DONT have rude employees, they bag well and I've never had any of them try to tell me off simply for asking them not to put my bread into the same plastic bag as two 2LT bottles of soda. One more thing, This IGA has the highest prices of any store in the area. They also post 'sale' signs on items after they have jacked-up the prices which really just bring the price down to 'almost' normal but still expensive price levels. Today they had a sign that said sale price 3 for $14.00 (plus deposit) on 6-packs of soda that normally sell for $3.99 or less at regular price throughout the year. Their 'sale' cost makes each 6-pack cost $4.66 per pack. That's highway robbery. Even the nearby BP gas station has cheaper prices. This is supposedly a sale but any Kindergartener can see it's actually more expensive. Meanwhile they cost $2.50 per 6-pack at Super One Foods, Walmart or Econo Foods..... Seriousy, you can go anywhere else in the county and get better service and better prices. This IGA sucks. read more
