I called several different tow truck companies before contracting Jim's auto services to move my 40 ft fifth wheel camper trailer from Branford Florida to Lake City Florida. I also asked for an extra truck in order to move my patio furniture and staircase that is independent from the camper trailer. I intricately discussed my need for the extra equipment, describing the items individually. Upon my arrival to Casey Jones RV Park, the tow truck and the extra truck had already arrived and left the unit partially set up before I arrived. I met the driver at the office. While I was in the process of checking in the Park, the tow truck driver was very intrusive standing in on my conversation with the Park Assistant, impatient and rude. I asked him to please give us some privacy so I could impart my personal information to the assistant. Upon completion of my check-in process, I addressed the finalization of payment for the services provided for me through Jim's auto service. The price was $100 more than I agreed with Jim personally prior to making the arrangements for the services that were provided to me. I stated to the tow truck driver that he was misinformed and that I did not owe the amount claimed. He insisted THAT is what must be paid. I adamantly assured him that the amount was incorrect and that I would not pay it. He informed me that he would go to my unit and tow it away if I refuse to pay him the full amount. That hurt me financially and I had to use several different credit cards and over to pay the balance due. I had paid $150 extra for the extra truck to tow my patio furniture and my staircasing, as well as miscellaneous patio fixtures for plants etc. They did not deliver the patio furnishings. I contacted Jim personally to discuss the issue with him and he very blatantly and vulgarly informed me that they were not a moving company and that the amount of $150 is what must be PAID. Additionally, the young women who worked with me prior to making my commitment to the toe we're very kind and accommodating about setting up the arrangements with the full understanding that the extra truck was needed for the patio furniture, the staircase and miscellaneous patio furnishings. I agree to pay $150 for the extra truck in order to accommodate those items in particular. Following the discrepancy with the driver and Jim assuring me that they were not a moving company, as follow-up work ensued the ladies in the office became very vulgar hateful and called me filthy names that are totally unprofessional and unbecoming. I was assaulted verbally and yet it did change anything regarding the fact that I had been maliciously maligned by his entire staff and especially Jim, the manager owner of the business himself. I am 74 years old and have never had such a drastic pain-filled embarrassing and humiliating circumstance moving my coach anywhere in the nation. Under no circumstances would I advise anyone with any self-respect to employ this company to assist you in your move. read more

I just had a flat tire and tried to get it taken care of myself, but imagine my surprise when I didn't have a four-way or a tire iron to get my lug nuts loose. I called for roadside assistance and was quoted an hour ETA, but they were there within 30 minutes and had me back on the road before their arrival ETA was up. This is the second time I've needed them and both times they beat their ETA and got me taken care of with no stress, all I had to do was wait for them to show up and they took care of me. Where do I start? Well, first we called AAA when our RV unexpectedly wouldn't start after filling up with gas at a Exxon in Lake City. We were on our way to Wildwood after driving 9 hours. AAA "tried" to find a tow, but they tried for about 6 hours, so we decided to call places that were 24 hours. Jim's was the only one that would help us. They agreed to send someone out in 30 minutes and they did. AAA was able to call them to cover the cost, but that's not even the best part. The tow driver hooked up, was friendly, tried to give us tips on what might be the problem and drove us to a campground 1.5 hours away at about 4am. If we had known we could've gotten such fast and efficient service, we would have called them first and not waited the nearly 8 hours at a closed, dark, scary gas station in our home (RV). I couldn't be more appreciative and grateful. read more

I got a tow booked through Geico and he showed up at exactly 1:44, which is when I was told he would be here. The driver was very nice and when I talk to him about my truck he didn't make me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about and some drivers have from different companies because I'm a woman. Last weekend, I accidentally filled my diesel tank with DEF fluid. I refused to start my truck and blocked 2 pump (was towing an RV) at Loves truck stop. I got in touch with Jim's Towing and they towed my truck to their yard. Since its a Sunday and their repair shop is not opened til Monday, they allowed me to stay in my RV in front of their yard. On Monday they have dropped my fuel tank, cleaned it and put it back together. Put few gallon of diesel and directed me where the closest gas station with diesel is so I can top off. THey have charged me a very reasonable price both on towing and fixing my truck. I am very happy I chose Jim's Auto Service. Honest people, everyone is very friendly, from office worker and tow truck driver, even people in the yard. Wish I can give you 10 stars. Thank you Jim!!!!!! God Bless to you all. read more

Big thank you to Jim's Auto Repair Service for fixing my vehicle. Chuck actually listened to me and I had my insurance tow my car to them on Friday afternoon. He called me back within less than an hour and discussed a reasonable solution. Chuck and Regina stayed in contact with me as far as updates the entire time. They were able to repair my power steering leak without breaking my bank. They fixed it even after someone else tried and did more damage. Thank you Stephen for towing my back to my home and calling. If I have anymore repair issues, I will definitely come back to you. My repair price was way below to what I was expecting which was $1200-$2500. It ended up being way under $300. Very reasonable. Had a blow out on the freeway. AAA recommended Jims. They found a puncture hole and fixed it quickly. Being the tires have a lot of miles on them they could have just pushed me to replace them. Seem like very honest folks. I'd gladly recommend them. read more

Went today to get an oil change. Price was reasonable and so far the service seems ok. 2 things I really don't like and why i *probably* won't be back. 1. I don't like shops that say they include checking and topping off fluid levels and then charging for them. Yea I could care less about 63 cents but I just put almost an entire bottle of windshield wiper fluid not 2 months ago. I didn't need it especially if you are going to charge me for it. Most places that offer it offer it as a free service. 2. Don't lie to consumers. Do not try to tell me that if I've ever had synthetic oil in my truck I have to always have synthetic. That is a myth to sell over priced synthetic oil. And why is an oil change with synthetic oil more than twice a convential oil change. Honestly I know synthetic is more expensive to buy but not $40 for 6 quarts more expensive. And to propagate a myth about oil just to get people to spend over $70 every oil change because they *have too* is garbage business practices. When you do that either your people are shady or incompetent. Just my humble opinion. That being said 38 for a convential change and getting it done pretty quick isn't bad. read more

Having an older car that I just can't part with due to sentimental reasons, I needed to have the car examined for any major issues that needed repairing. In truth, I had been told by two other automotive repair shops that the car needed a major and expensive repair, so I wanted to know that from Jim and his employees to be certain. When I arrived at Jim's the morning of my scheduled visit, Jim and his staff listened (really listened!) to my concerns about the car. I left there feeling secure that Jim would work with me honestly and fairly, making sure that any passengers and I would be safe driving the car. Later that day, a call from Jim's helped toward restoring my faith in humanity. Jim had found no major issues with the car, inspecting it completely. His primary suggestion was for two new tires. His honesty brought me to tears, because I knew that he could have told me anything, and I would have believed him. When I picked up the car later, I only paid for an oil change. There was no charge for the time it took to inspect my car, which included removing all four tires. Amazing! I strongly recommend Jim's Auto Service to everyone. read more

I cannot explain the hell we went through trying to get our travel trailer towed (via GoodSamsClub aka... NOTsoGoodSamsClub). The 4 days of bull we went through would bore you so let me get down to business. We are in our 70's and needed to have our travel trailer towed 27 miles Bottom line is we could not find anyone to help us. We were in Lake Butler Fl needed to go to Alachua Fl (and we had driven up from Lecanto, Fl). After the help were were promised fell through eventually we were put in contact with Jim's Auto Service. Oh happy days!!! They sent Josh down from Lake City, he did everything perfectly, towed the vehicle for us and got it to our destination for a terrific and fair price. Very displeased with the service I received on both occasions with this establishment. Given the benefit of the doubt with several recommendations I brushed off the first situation....Rude, speaks only when spoken to, lazy job based on supplies left behind in my vehicle along with new issues I didn't have prior to visiting. On the second occasion again as I entered the store no one spoke, customer behind me caucasian was greeted promptly! Last time I check money was green. Anyway the primary issue I had was fixed no issues that I'm aware of and I did buy my own part. The second issue was an easy job on my opinion and would have caused severe damage to my engine had I not followed up. I was told by the mechanic my guy didnt do his job but the way you drove caused more issues... Excuse me if the job was done properly it wouldn't have mattered how I was driving...speedbumps shouldn't cause parts to disconnect. Fortunately for me I won't spend another cent or recommend anyone. read more

My RV inexplicably quit running as I pulled into a rest area near Lake City, Florida. The starter wouldn't engage and no attempt at jump starting worked. I called Sam's Roadside Assistance who contracted to tow me to their facility. It was late on the 3rd when we reached their repair facility. They agreed to work on the problem and it turned out to be an unusual problem. After a prolonged diagnosis they found the NTRL Safety Switch was defective. The vehicle now started, but then quit running. Back to more diagnosis. They found the Crankshaft Sensor defective and needed replacement. In addition they repaired the vehicle's A/C after finding that a high pressure service port valve was leaking freon. Repairs were completed on 4/5/18 and I departed for Las Vegas. Now four days later I'm in New Mexico and the vehicle has started every time w/o any issue. Plus the A/C continues to blow nice cold air. A big 2 thumbs up! I should note that they called me each day to let me know the status of the repair as I was staying at a motel in Lake City during the repair. I should also need they gave me a ride to the motel and picked me up after repairs were made. A definite positive experience. read more
