Really friendly, affordable and very professional. I have gone to many barbers over the years, and often places that charge considerably more, but they just dont compare to John's and my very astute better half agrees. She's pretty critical of the way my hair looks at times (probably with good reason) but she's very appreciative when I get it done there. It's a small place, that is easy to walk by and miss, and doesnt have the snazzy look of some of the news barber places (there seem to be loads in Salisbury now!), but there isnt usually a wait and the service is second to none.

The member of staff…read moreScott, was very rude and came across as though he did not want to do the hair cut from the start. He then proceeded to blame myself and my husband for my son moving while we were trying to keep him calm, as toddlers do not want to sit still at the best of times. We stopped the hair cut after 1 cut as it was very clear he did not want to do the cut and I did not want my toddler to get too upset during the process. After asking for the managers name on the way out, to make a complaint as myself and my husband were very upset by this situation. Instead of letting us call/email with the complaint to keep the situation calm, he proceeded to blame us for the situation. We were told by him and his colleague that he was usually good with children and that he had that attitude due to safety. Also that it's an £11 hair cut so almost saying what do we expect? The manager Carol did her best to keep the situation calm and apologised but don't offer an under 4s hair cut if you don't have the patience or the right attitude to deal with under 4s! Would never recommend for small children and will not be returning

Im visiting from the US and I'm a city guy. The haircut I received was up to any cut I've had at "uptown" places and the prices are very reasonable. I have a feeling this place is locally loved, and it should be. But if you are just passing through and need a cut, give them a call. Highly recommended

When doing a review, I came across Mavericks and I saw that not only do they have outstanding reviews, but their prices are significantly more affordable than other places. After spending a good amount of time trying to understand exactly what I had in mind, Sandra cut my long curls and gave me a fantastic edgy bob- all the while checking in to make sure I was happy with every step. After my experience, I won't even consider going anywhere else!
