I just heard that a friend was denied a pedicure because of her size, they told her they just fixed the chair and no one over 200 lbs was allowed a pedicure because it would damage the chair. I think this is disgraceful, discriminating, and just plain mean and hateful. They should be ashamed of them selves and I hope they loose business because of this, I for one will NEVER go here for a pedicure and I hope once the word gets out people of all shapes and sizes stop giving them their business. read more

My manicure and pedicure was alright. Very reasonably priced for the area at $32 and I liked that they used an exfoliating scrub, then massaged with lotion. The nail salon was lacking on polish colors, but has enough to choose one that would work. The customer service pretty much sucked and I doubt I'll return as a result. The gentleman that did my nails and I had a huge language barrier, but I thought jerking your foot away and flinching was an international sign for "you're really hurting me," apparently not. Also, he rushed as if we were racing another technician for a large cash prize. It was the rest of the staff that was blatantly rude. I came in 90 mins before closing w/ an appt, there were even 3 other customers, but they still closed the door and started cleaning up while we were in there. They even shut off the tv we were watching w/ 20 mins left before closing. They had 4 staff members w/o clients, they couldve doubled up, someone couldve done manicures during pedicures, which wouldve gotten us out faster, so they couldve cleaned up AFTER the customers left. Also, when I paid with a gift certificate, the employees started talking amongst each other as if they were irritated I was using the certificate. There arent many options in Cortland for quick and inexpensive mani/pedis, but I'd be reluctant to return to Jimmys, I just felt like I was an inconvenience, rather than an appreciated customer. read more

HORRIBLE!!!! I've never been more frustrated with a nail salon. I asked for dip powder and they acted as if they had no idea what I'm talking about. I was given an option of about 7 colors. This type of manicure should last about 2 weeks. It hasn't even been a week yet and my nails are chipping. I paid 40 dollars!!!! That's nuts. ALSO, did not even get a complete manicure. I had to ask for my nails to be filed, they did not even touch my cuticles! No massage, lotion ... nothing ! This place sucks. read more

Absolutely love Jimmy's!!!! A few of the guys are a little grumpy, but I always end up the lady or the guy with the back issue & they do a fabulous job!!! Last week the guy with the back problem spend an hour & a half on my acrylics & I only paid him $15! Fabulous prices for amazing quality! What more could you ask for!!! Occasionally there is a wait, especially on Saturdays, but it's 30 minutes max, and well worth it!!!! They will also take any customers that get in the door before closing time; for instance, I will get there at 445 on Saturday & even though closing time is 5, they will take me! read more

This was the worst nail experience I have ever had and I have been getting my nails done for 20 years. I asked for SS powder and he started doing acrylic. I asked 3 times, and stated I do not want acrylic nails I will pay for gel if you dont have SS. I then asked again and said listen I do not want my nails done like this. They still charged me $40 and told me they would do it right next time. There will not be a next time. The acrylic was filled with tiny bubbles and looked cheap and terrible. Never again. read more

I had gotten a basic Gel manicure and a pedicure for 50$. The guy that I had did a very thorough job his filling, cutting and cuticle removal is very precise. He also gave a very good massage. The only con was that his accent was very thick and hard to understand but he was very nice and tried his best. read more

If I could give a business zero out of five stars, this business would be it. I went with my friend to get our eyebrows done and their unsanitary method of waxing eyebrows is disgusting. My friend was left very unsatisfied with her eyebrow waxing, and instead of saying sorry for listening to her requests, the lady got defensive and was very rude. I will never return to this location again, and I highly advise no one else goes here too. Please save your money. read more

TERRIBLE! They had the audacity to ask for a tip after making me bleed. When I went they told me they couldn't do my nails because my arms are too short. I get my nails done all over the United States, and this was the worst nail experience I've had. I got a simple gel manicure. When shaping my nails the manicurist cut too much off, causing me to bleed and several of my nails were straight and the other half were rounded. After every polish application he dug his nails into my fingers to remove excess. His efforts were in vain as polish was still on my fingers when he was finished. The lighting was dark and it wasn't until after I left that I discovered the topcoat did not cover my color, leaving the tips exposed and to wear off quickly. I would not recommend coming here for a long lasting manicure. read more

Jimmy Nails is a great example of late stage capitalism in modern day society. High prices for awful service. A simple manicure costs 15 dollars here, and this doesn't include tip. Despite the already high cost, employees will pester you to get the gel manicure, the more expensive choice. I declined the several offers politely, but couldn't help but be annoyed when the employee called her manager over, so she could harass me about the gel manicure further. My experience was a cake walk compared to that of my friend. The employee charged her $5 extra for her desired nail shape, filed her finger, rather than her fingernail, causing redness, swelling and blisters, applied the nails underneath the cuticle, causing severe pain and the risk of infection. There were many more misfortunes during my trip to Jimmys, but the recollection of these events alone evokes feelings of rage. Do not go to Jimmy Nails, you have been warned. read more

i went to jimmy's nails several times now. they have great customer service and always do a good job. in june i took my aunts, mom and sisters and we all left feeling fabulous! it was a bridal shower, and before i left the owner gave me a gift card for a manicure as a wedding present. i highly recommend this hidden gem. read more
